Tata Power Ghar Ghar Solar Campaign Targets 800 MW Rooftop Capacity in Maharashtra

Pune: Tata Power Renewables, a subsidiary of Tata Power, has rolled out its flagship Ghar Ghar Solar campaign to boost the adoption of residential rooftop solar solutions across Maharashtra.

Marking the initiative with an Independence Day special, Tata Power Solaroof is offering customers the chance to own a rooftop solar system for just ₹1,947 — symbolising the year of India’s independence and representing freedom from high electricity bills.

Ghar Ghar Solar Campaign: Ambitious Targets

The company has set a goal to install 800 MW of rooftop solar capacity in Maharashtra within the next three years, alongside onboarding 1,000 rooftop solar channel partners and retailers to strengthen its distribution network. In Pune alone, Tata Power plans to expand its existing 200 MW capacity by an additional 250 MW over the same period.

Ghar Ghar Solar Campaign: Exclusive Independence Day Scheme

Key highlights of the scheme include:

  • Up-front payment: ₹1,947 across all system sizes (2 kWp, 3 kWp, 5 kWp, 10 kWp)
  • Affordable EMIs: Starting at ₹2,369 post-subsidy for a 2 kWp system
  • Flexible financing: Tenures up to 60 months
  • Instant digital loan approvals for faster processing
  • Complimentary 1-year solar insurance from Tata AIG for all residential customers

Under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, households can avail central subsidies of ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 per kW for the next 1 kW, capped at ₹78,000 for systems above 3 kW. Tata Power Solaroof has partnered with 15 major banks, including SBI, Bank of Baroda, and Union Bank of India, to offer accessible financing options.

Lifestyle Solar Solutions

The campaign also introduces MySine — a compact solar + battery backup system for uninterrupted power, and Solar Design Spaces — a curated collection of 25 stylish rooftop designs integrating sustainability with aesthetics. Both solutions are included under the Independence Day scheme.
