Pune: Manipal Hospitals Pune has launched the Har Ghar Emergency Ready campaign, a community-focused initiative to equip households and communities with critical emergency response skills.
As part of this effort, the hospital partnered with Little Millennium Preschools to train over 400 teachers and facilitators in CPR and first aid, ensuring schools in Pune are better prepared to handle medical emergencies.

The comprehensive program featured hands-on CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) training sessions led by Manipal Hospitals’ emergency care specialists. It also included health awareness sessions by Dr Nayantara Das, HOD and Consultant – Emergency Services, and Dr Abhishek Trivedi, Consultant – Emergency Services, Manipal Hospitals Baner and Kharadi.
Training modules covered life-saving interventions such as CPR, choking response, bleeding control, managing fainting spells, wound care, and handling falls. Each participant engaged in individual practical sessions to ensure complete mastery of the skills.
Empowering Teachers as First Responders
Speaking at the event, Anand Mote, Cluster Director, Manipal Hospitals Pune, emphasized that teachers are not only educators but also the first line of care for children. He noted, “In a medical emergency, their ability to act swiftly and correctly can be the difference between life and death. Through this training, we empower them with CPR and first aid skills, enabling them to respond with confidence.”
Recognition and Certification Under Har Ghar Emergency Ready
All trained participants were awarded CPR and BLS certifications, CPR Champion badges, and Suraksha cards with personal benefits, ensuring they are prepared to respond effectively during real-life emergencies.
Part of the Wider Har Ghar Emergency Ready Movement
The Har Ghar Emergency Ready initiative forms part of the broader Har Ghar Emergency Ready outreach program by Manipal Hospitals, which aims to make every educational institution in India a safer environment for children.
Through this nationwide effort, the hospital is extending healthcare knowledge beyond clinical settings to build stronger, more resilient communities.
