Pune: Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra inaugurated the state-of-the-art Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department at Sancheti Hospital, Pune, highlighting the indispensable role physiotherapists play not only in sports recovery but also in mental and emotional well-being.
The new facility is set to become a national benchmark in sports physiotherapy in India, integrating multi-specialty treatment approaches under one roof.

“Physiotherapists aren’t just a part of the recovery process – they are the recovery,” Bindra said during the event, reflecting on his two-decade-long sports career, which saw him work closely with over 10 physiotherapists. “They are our physical healers and emotional supporters. In my case, they even helped mend critical relationships during challenging times in my career,” he added.
A First-of-Its-Kind Holistic Healing Center
The newly inaugurated department at Sancheti Hospital offers a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to treatment. It houses highly qualified experts across neuro, orthopaedic, paediatric, vestibular, cardio-respiratory, and sports physiotherapy, ensuring holistic and personalized patient care.
