Mumbai: Sports for Life (SFL), a leading sports-tech platform offering structured multi-sport coaching to young athletes, has announced the appointment of Heimir Hallgrimsson as its Global Ambassador and Football Mentor.
Hallgrimsson, a globally respected tactician and the current Head Coach of the Republic of Ireland, is best known for orchestrating Iceland’s historic victory over England in UEFA Euro 2016 and leading the nation to its first-ever FIFA World Cup appearance in 2018.
With recent coaching stints in Jamaica and Ireland, Hallgrimsson now brings his rich global experience to fuel the growth of Indian grassroots football.

Heimir Hallgrimsson Will Work Closely With Flagship Initiatives
Through his mentorship, Hallgrimsson will work closely with SFL’s flagship initiatives – SFL Oranje Academy and Maharashtra Oranje FC – which focus on a three-pillar model: technical skills, tactical intelligence, and match awareness. The academy also offers holistic programs encompassing fitness, nutrition, and mental wellness, aimed at nurturing well-rounded athletes.
