The PV Module Index Report 2025 is one of the solar industry’s most rigorous benchmarking frameworks, designed to assess module quality, reliability, and real-world performance under extreme stress conditions.
RETC’s evaluation focuses on three core metrics – quality, performance, and reliability – with only a handful of global players qualifying for the highest recognition.
Waaree stood out particularly for its exceptional LID (Light-Induced Degradation) resistance, with modules exhibiting less than 0.5% degradation – an essential metric for long-term solar performance. RETC highlighted Waaree’s use of superior materials, advanced cell technologies, and robust design as key drivers behind its industry-leading performance.
Meeting Global Standards with Indian Innovation
“Waaree Energies has met or exceeded the world’s most demanding benchmarks in solar module reliability,” said Cherif Kedir, President & CEO of RETC. “Their recognition as Overall Highest Achiever is a testament to unmatched product integrity and technical excellence.”
Dr Amit Paithankar, CEO of Waaree Energies, added, “Quality is the foundation of our business. Innovation is our DNA. To be recognized by RETC two years in a row is not only a proud moment for Waaree but a strong message to the global energy community – India is leading the charge in clean energy transformation.”

Waaree’s solar modules were tested for durability and output under extreme environmental conditions – from temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C, 2,000 hours of high humidity, to 192 hours of high-voltage stress. Advanced AI modelling was also employed to optimize energy performance under diverse sunlight conditions.
PV Module Index Report 2025: Waaree’s Role as Global Standard-Bearer
Already commanding 17.3% market share in India’s module shipments for Q1 2025 and with rapidly increasing exports, Waaree’s position in the PV Module Index Report 2025 solidifies its role as a global standard-bearer for Indian solar manufacturing.
This recognition places Waaree at the forefront of the world’s solar industry, powering the transition toward sustainable, affordable, and reliable energy for all.
