  • Waaree Solar Americas Begins Commercial Production on 1.6 GW New Module Lines, Doubles Texas Capacity to 3.2 GW

    Waaree Solar Americas

Waaree Solar Americas (WSA), a wholly owned subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited (WEL), has commenced commercial production from two new solar module manufacturing lines at its Brookshire facility in Texas, adding 1.6 GW of annual manufacturing capacity.

With this expansion, the facility’s total installed annual capacity has doubled to 3.2 GW.

Each of the two newly commissioned manufacturing lines has an annual production capacity of 800 MW.

The expansion strengthens Waaree Solar Americas’ manufacturing footprint in the United States and enhances its ability to supply domestically manufactured solar modules to American developers, utilities and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) partners.

The Brookshire expansion is part of Waaree’s broader US manufacturing capacity expansion strategy.

In addition to increasing production capacity in Texas, Waaree Solar Americas is upgrading its Arizona solar module manufacturing facility from 1 GW to 1.6 GW.

With these developments, Waaree’s planned solar module manufacturing capacity in the US is expected to reach 4.8 GW in FY27.

Across its markets, Waaree Energies’ solar module order book currently stands at more than 25 GW.

Waaree Solar Americas Starts Production on New Lines at Brookshire

Commercial production from the two new manufacturing lines at the Brookshire facility began on October 29, 2026. The expansion was approved by the Waaree Energies Board in April 2025.

The addition of 1.6 GW of capacity doubles the Brookshire facility’s annual production capacity from 1.6 GW to 3.2 GW.

The expanded manufacturing operations are expected to strengthen Waaree Solar Americas’ ability to serve the growing requirements of American solar developers, utilities and EPC partners with solar modules manufactured locally in the US.

The latest capacity addition also reinforces the company’s strategy of establishing manufacturing operations within the markets it serves.

US Manufacturing Revenue Rises to ₹1,300 Crore in Q2 FY27

The expansion comes amid changes in US trade measures, including Section 232, which are reshaping the economics of imported solar modules.

Waaree prepared for these developments by establishing manufacturing capabilities within the US market. Its investments in domestic manufacturing are supporting its efforts to strengthen its position in the American solar energy market.

Revenue from Waaree’s US manufacturing operations increased to ₹1,300 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with ₹732 crore in the corresponding period a year earlier.

The US domestic business now accounts for 43.8% of Waaree’s total ₹59,200 crore order book. This represents an increase from approximately 36% at the end of the previous quarter.

Commenting on the expansion, Sunil Rathi, Director, Waaree Group, said, “Shifting trade policy has strengthened the case for local manufacturing, and that is exactly where we have invested.

With Brookshire now at 3.2 GW and Arizona expanding, we are serving American customers from American factories, and our US order book continues to grow every quarter.”

Waaree Strengthens Its Make in USA for USA Manufacturing Strategy

The expansion of the Brookshire facility supports Waaree’s dual-market manufacturing strategy of Make in India for the World and Make in USA for USA.

Through this approach, the company is expanding its manufacturing presence in both India and the United States to serve customers across its key markets.

Waaree Energies continues to report growth in its consolidated financial performance. Its consolidated revenue from operations increased 23.9% to ₹7,518 crore in Q2 FY27.

Alongside its US manufacturing expansion, Waaree is also strengthening backward integration in India to expand its domestic manufacturing capabilities.

Waaree Energies Expands Solar Cell Capacity to 15.4 GW

As part of its manufacturing expansion plans in India, Waaree Energies is increasing its solar cell manufacturing capacity from 5.4 GW to 15.4 GW in FY27.

The company is also targeting the development of a 10 GW ingot and wafer manufacturing facility by FY28.

These investments are part of Waaree’s broader manufacturing expansion strategy, complementing the growing solar module manufacturing capacity of Waaree Solar Americas in the United States.

With Brookshire’s annual capacity now increased to 3.2 GW, the planned expansion of Arizona to 1.6 GW and additional investments in India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem, Waaree is progressing with its strategy of expanding manufacturing capabilities across both markets.
