Phi Commerce

Pune: In a landmark step toward global expansion, Phi Commerce, a leading Indian omnichannel digital payment solutions provider, has entered into a strategic partnership with DG Financial Technology (DGFT), the payments subsidiary of Digital Garage, Inc., one of Japan’s top three payment processors.

This collaboration aims to deliver next-generation digital payment experiences to Japan, one of the world’s most advanced economies.

The partnership marks Phi Commerce’s official entry into the Japanese market, with DGFT exclusively distributing Phi’s unified payments platform. This includes omnichannel capabilities across online, in-store (PoS), and mobile, as well as issuing solutions for credit, debit, and prepaid cards.

The collaboration will also adapt Phi Commerce’s platform to Japan’s local payment ecosystem, empowering financial institutions, businesses, and fintech players with scalable, secure, and efficient payment infrastructure.

“This partnership is a proud milestone in our global journey,” said Jose Thattil, CEO and Co-founder of Phi Commerce. “Japan’s payment landscape is advanced yet complex. With DGFT’s expertise and our innovative tech stack, we aim to redefine how digital payments are experienced across the region.”

The agreement is backed by a strategic investment from Digital Garage Group, solidifying a long-term commitment to accelerating Japan’s transition to a cashless and secure digital economy. The partnership will focus on technology collaboration between the companies’ India-based tech hubs – Phi Commerce in Pune and DGFT’s development unit, DG FutureTech India.

“Through this strategic partnership, DGFT will help businesses in Japan benefit from the deployment of Phi Commerce’s advanced payment solutions,” said Hiroshi Shino, Director, Digital Garage / President, DGFT. “Our goal is to support a safer, faster, and more inclusive digital payment ecosystem, aligned with Japan’s fintech vision.”
