CTTC Bhubaneswar Trains 8,083 Engineering Students Under Summer Internship Programme 2026

New Delhi: Central Tool Room & Training Centre – CTTC Bhubaneswar, under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), has successfully conducted its four-week Summer Internship Training Programme 2026 during May and June, training 8,083 engineering students from 22 States and Union Territories across India.

The programme also included 26 international students from Sudan and Yemen, providing participants with industry-oriented and hands-on technical training.

The Summer Internship Training Programme 2026 provided engineering students from first year to final year with an opportunity to gain practical exposure across a wide range of technical disciplines.

The participation of students from different parts of the country, along with international students, highlights the reach of CTTC Bhubaneswar as an institution focused on structured, industry-oriented training.

The programme reaffirmed the role of CTTC Bhubaneswar in providing technical training aimed at strengthening the employability and technical competence of India’s engineering students.

The four-week internship courses were designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industrial practice through intensive hands-on training.

CTTC Bhubaneswar Offers Training Across Core and Emerging Technologies

The CTTC Bhubaneswar Summer Internship Programme covered a broad spectrum of engineering disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Civil and Computer Science.

The programme also included emerging technology areas such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI-ML), Cloud Computing, Internet of Things (IoT) and Additive Manufacturing.

Each four-week course was structured to provide intensive practical training, enabling students to gain exposure to technologies and applications relevant to industrial practice.

Of the 8,083 students trained by CTTC Bhubaneswar, Mechanical Engineering recorded the highest participation with 3,193 candidates.

Electronics followed with 2,209 students, while IT & Software accounted for 1,948 students.

Civil Engineering had 388 participants, while other emerging domains accounted for 345 students.

The participation figures reflect the continued interest in core engineering disciplines alongside growing participation in new-age technology areas.

Artificial Intelligence Leads Among Training Domains

The CTTC Bhubaneswar programme offered training across 39 engineering and emerging technology domains. Artificial Intelligence recorded the highest participation, with 1,748 students undergoing training.

This was followed by PLC Programming, which had 1,000 participants, while AutoCAD attracted 991 students. Python Programming recorded 413 participants, followed by Data Analytics with 392 students.

The range of training areas covered by CTTC Bhubaneswar included both established engineering technologies and emerging digital and manufacturing capabilities, giving students opportunities to develop practical technical skills across multiple domains.

Students from IITs, NITs and Other Institutions Participate

The CTTC Bhubaneswar Summer Internship Training Programme also attracted students from several premier educational institutions.

Participants included students from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Deemed-to-be Universities, engineering colleges and polytechnic institutes.

The programme was open to engineering students from the first year through the final year, allowing students at different stages of their engineering education to participate in industry-oriented training.

With 8,083 students from 22 States and Union Territories taking part, the CTTC Bhubaneswar internship programme provided a nationwide platform for engineering students to receive hands-on exposure.

The participation of 26 international students from Sudan and Yemen also added an international dimension to the programme.

About CTTC Bhubaneswar

The Central Tool Room & Training Centre (CTTC), Bhubaneswar, has been established to meet the tooling and training requirements of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the fields of Tool Design and Manufacture and to provide training to technical personnel in these areas.

CTTC Bhubaneswar offers services in areas including auto parts, high-precision parts and general engineering. The Centre designs, develops and manufactures quality press tools, moulds and dies, gauges, jigs and fixtures, among other products.

The Centre also provides training programmes in Tool & Die Technology, Product Design, Mechatronics, Advanced Machine Maintenance, CAD/CAM/CAE, CNC machining and programming.

CTTC Bhubaneswar’s Contribution to Space and Aerospace Manufacturing

Beyond its training activities, CTTC Bhubaneswar has contributed to India’s space manufacturing capabilities by manufacturing and supplying precision components to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

The Centre manufactured and supplied 437 types of 54,000 precision components to ISRO for the Chandrayaan-3 Mission, which was launched on July 14, 2023.

CTTC Bhubaneswar also manufactured and supplied different types of precision components, including regulators, flow control valves, gyroscopes, temperature sensors and navigation parts, to ISRO for the Aditya-L1 Mission, India’s Solar Mission, launched on September 2, 2023.

The Centre has also made contributions to the aerospace and defence sectors by manufacturing high-precision components for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), including components for the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) programme.

Through its training programmes and manufacturing activities, CTTC Bhubaneswar continues to provide technical training and precision manufacturing capabilities in areas covering tooling, engineering, aerospace and defence.
