New Delhi: The Aadhaar App has crossed 31 million downloads in less than five months since its launch, reflecting strong acceptance among residents across India.
The rapid adoption of the Aadhaar App underscores growing resident confidence in accessing Aadhaar-related services conveniently through smartphones.
Designed to enhance ease of living, the Aadhaar App enables users to access a range of services, including mobile number updates and address modifications, directly from their mobile devices.
According to official data, nearly 4 million people have updated their mobile numbers using the new Aadhaar App.
Additionally, around 850,000 residents have used the application to update their addresses, highlighting the increasing utility and adoption of digital identity services.
The Aadhaar App has been developed to provide Aadhaar Number Holders (ANH) with a convenient and privacy-first mechanism to show, share, and verify their identity securely.

The application offers several citizen-centric features, including biometric lock and unlock functionality with a single click, face verification for proof of presence, authentication history, and a QR-based editable contact card that allows users to share contact information digitally instead of using physical visiting cards.
Further, the Aadhaar App enables users to download e-Aadhaar and facilitates easy online appointment booking for visits to Aadhaar Seva Kendras (ASKs), among other services.
The app also supports a wide range of real-life use cases. These include hotel check-ins through Offline Verification Seeking Entity (OVSE) QR code scanning, hospital admissions, visitor management, event entries, and identity verification of gig workers and service partners.
With its expanding feature set and growing user base, the Aadhaar App continues to bring essential identity-related services closer to residents while promoting secure and seamless digital interactions.
