Kochi: The Build for India Agentic AI Hackathon has officially commenced in Kochi, marking a significant national-level initiative aimed at advancing autonomous Artificial Intelligence systems.
Organized by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), the 24-hour Build for India Agentic AI Hackathon is positioned as one of the largest competitions of its kind in the country.
The Build for India Agentic AI Hackathon was inaugurated by KSUM CEO Anoop Ambika at the Kerala Startup Mission Digital Hub in Kochi.
Speaking at the launch, Anoop Ambika stated that Kerala holds a leadership position in driving the nation’s technology growth through innovation.
AI developers, startup founders, researchers, and students with expertise in Artificial Intelligence from various parts of the country are participating in the Build for India Agentic AI Hackathon.
The Build for India Agentic AI Hackathon focuses on advancing Agentic AI – AI systems capable of planning, making decisions, acting independently, and learning with minimal human intervention.
Through the Build for India Agentic AI Hackathon, KSUM aims to push forward this next phase of Artificial Intelligence development and encourage the creation of autonomous, real-world AI solutions.
Teams comprising two to five members – including AI developers, startup teams, and students studying data science and related subjects – are competing in the Build for India Agentic AI Hackathon.
Out of 700 team applications received from across the country, 62 teams have been selected to participate in the national-level competition.

Build for India Agentic AI Hackathon: Winners to Gain Access to Incubation Support
Participants in the Build for India Agentic AI Hackathon are expected to develop practical solutions across several focus areas.
These include autonomous task agents, systems that automate employment processes, applied AI models for public services, and tools designed to enhance operational efficiency in organizations.
The top-performing teams in the hackathon will receive financial assistance of ₹20 lakh each.
In addition to the monetary award, winners will gain access to post-hackathon incubation support, mentorship, networking opportunities with industry leaders, and funding opportunities through the Startup Mission ecosystem.
With strong participation from AI developers, startups, researchers, and students nationwide, the hackathon underscores Kerala’s continued emphasis on fostering innovation-led technology growth through structured startup ecosystem initiatives.
