Pune: Vascon Engineers Ltd. (VASCONEQ) has invested approximately ₹8 crore to establish a state-of-the-art R Vasudevan CREDAI Center for Research and Development at the College of Engineering Pune, aimed at advancing research, innovation, and industry–academia collaboration in the construction and real estate sectors.
The 18,000 sq. ft. R Vasudevan CREDAI Center for Research and Development, constructed within a designated area on the COEP campus, marks a significant step toward strengthening technology adoption and applied research in civil engineering.
The R Vasudevan CREDAI Center for Research and Development has been designed as a platform to support research, testing, and deployment of technologies relevant to construction, infrastructure, and real estate.
The total investment of around ₹8 crore includes capital expenditure on infrastructure, with interior work and complete setup expected to be completed over the next four months. Once fully operational, the Centre of Excellence will function as a dynamic hub for advanced learning, experimentation, and collaboration.

Part of the Center for Research and Development will be developed in collaboration with CREDAI, strengthening engagement with the real estate developer community.
In addition, a state-of-the-art Plumbing Lab will be established in association with the Indian Plumbing Association (IPA), further enhancing the technical infrastructure within the R Vasudevan Center for Research and Development.
The R Vasudevan CREDAI Center for Research and Development will enable live technology demonstrations, pilot projects, academic–industry workshops, research collaboration, and structured knowledge exchange.
It will provide students, faculty, and researchers with exposure to real-world applications and evolving industry practices.
The platform is also open to PhD scholars, startups, and industry professionals, allowing them to utilize the R Vasudevan Center for Research and Development for research, product development, testing, and innovation initiatives.
By allowing PhD students and research scholars to work within the R Vasudevan Center for Research and Development, the initiative seeks to encourage deeper research in areas that currently lack structured industry support.
Startups will also be able to leverage the R Vasudevan CREDAI Center for Research and Development to develop, test, refine, and showcase construction technologies, bridging the gap between concept and on-site application.
The Centre of Excellence will bring together developers, architects, EPC companies, engineers, consultants, academia, urban planners, and government stakeholders under one collaborative ecosystem.
The objective is to reduce the gap between academic curriculum and practical industry requirements by enabling direct engagement and applied experimentation within the R Vasudevan Center for Research and Development.
