Mitsubishi Electric IIT Hyderabad MOU

Tokyo: Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) to strengthen industry–academia collaboration in science and technology.

The Mitsubishi Electric IIT Hyderabad MOU will be effective for a three-year period until February 2029.

Under the Mitsubishi Electric IIT Hyderabad MOU, Mitsubishi Electric and IITH will promote joint research and personnel exchanges across multiple scientific and technological domains, including artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, and cybersecurity.

Mitsubishi Electric IIT Hyderabad MOU: Accelerate Technology Development

By strengthening industry–academia collaboration, both institutions aim to accelerate technology development and enable the societal implementation of research outcomes to contribute to a more sustainable world while nurturing skilled research and development (R&D) talent.

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are a network of premier engineering universities established by the Government of India to strengthen higher education in the country.

IIT Hyderabad, founded in 2008, has emerged as a rapidly growing educational and research institution that emphasizes industry–academia collaboration and entrepreneurship education.

The institute has earned global recognition in fields such as science, engineering, and energy, and actively engages in personnel exchanges with Japanese universities and companies.

Mitsubishi Electric IIT Hyderabad MOU to Advance Joint Research and Talent Development

Mitsubishi Electric has already been collaborating with IITH through initiatives such as accepting student interns and conducting joint research on autonomous navigation with the Technology Innovation Hub on Autonomous Navigation (TiHAN), a smart mobility research center established at IITH.

The company is focusing on research and development into foresight technologies in anticipation of global changes, aiming to create new value that addresses evolving societal challenges.

Mitsubishi Electric is also strengthening co-creation efforts with domestic and international partners to accelerate the implementation of research results in global society and contribute to a more sustainable world.
