New Delhi: The Board of Directors of the Fertiliser Association of India (FAI) has elected S Sankarasubramanian, Managing Director and CEO of Coromandel International Limited, as its new Chairman.
The decision was finalized at the board meeting held on October 31, 2025.
S Sankarasubramanian to Lead FAI’s Strategic Vision
A seasoned leader with over 30 years of experience in the fertiliser industry, S Sankarasubramanian has been instrumental in advancing the Phosphatic and Potassic (P&K) sector.
Prior to this appointment, he served as Co-Chairman of the FAI Board and Chairman of the Southern Region, contributing to several policy and innovation initiatives in the fertiliser domain.

Dr Siba Prasad Mohanty, Managing Director of Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Ltd., who previously shared the position of Co-Chairman, will now serve as the sole Co-Chairman of FAI.
Commitment to Sustainability and Atmanirbharta
In his acceptance remarks, S Sankarasubramanian reaffirmed FAI’s commitment to promoting innovation, sustainability, and balanced nutrient management. He emphasized the importance of resource efficiency and closer collaboration with policymakers to drive Atmanirbharta (self-reliance) in the fertiliser sector.
“FAI will continue to align industry goals with national agricultural priorities to enhance growth, resilience, and long-term food security,” he stated.
FAI extended its appreciation to Sailesh C Mehta, the outgoing Chairman, for his leadership and contributions to the organisation’s development and the broader fertiliser industry.
