Pune: The Army Institute of Cardio Thoracic Sciences (AICTS), Pune, is hosting the National Pulmonology Conference 2025, jointly organized by the Association of Physicians of India (API) and the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS).

Scheduled from 18 to 20 September 2025, the conference has brought together leading pulmonologists from the Armed Forces and top academic institutions across India to share insights on advancements in respiratory medicine and strategies to improve patient care.

National Pulmonology Conference 2025: Workshops and Faculty Participation

The National Pulmonology Conference 2025 commenced on 18 September with seven hands-on workshops.

More than 300 medical residents and nearly 100 faculty members participated, providing young doctors a rare opportunity to gain practical skills and interact directly with some of India’s most respected pulmonology experts.

Keynote by Dr. Randeep Guleria Highlights Healthcare Future

The conference was inaugurated by Lt Gen P P Rao, Director and Commandant of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC). The keynote address, delivered by Padma Shri Dr Randeep Guleria, was titled “Healthcare in 2030: Preparing for the Respiratory Revolution.”

His lecture set the stage for discussions on cutting-edge developments in respiratory medicine, systemic diseases involving the lungs, and evolving approaches to tuberculosis care.

Participation and Legacy of AICTS in Pulmonology

Organized by the Department of Respiratory Medicine, AICTS, Pune, the National Pulmonology Conference 2025 has drawn participation from more than 150 faculty members and over 500 delegates nationwide.

The event provides a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, clinical insights, and collaborative research in the field of respiratory health.

Maj Gen P K Sharma, Commandant of AICTS and Organizing Chairperson, expressed satisfaction at the successful inauguration of the event.

He emphasized AICTS’s pioneering contributions to respiratory care since its establishment in 1948 and highlighted the importance of such national-level gatherings in driving innovation and collaboration among healthcare professionals.
