PGI and Entity 1 Launch Waste-to-Value Added Products Alliance with ₹500 Crore MECC Investment

Waste-to-Value Added Products alliance

Chennai: Premier Green Innovations Pvt Ltd (PGI) and Entity 1 Value Emission Pvt Ltd have announced a strategic collaboration to create an innovation-led Waste-to-Value Added Products alliance.

The partnership is focused on leveraging Microbial Electrochemical Cell (MECC) technology to convert agricultural and industrial waste into key products such as ethyl acetate, acetic acid, and bio-hydrogen-based methanol.

Waste-to-Value Added Products Alliance to Drive Green Energy Transition

The Waste-to-Value Added Products alliance is designed to accelerate India’s efforts in sustainable waste management, decarbonization, and energy security. With a planned investment of ₹500 crore over the next three years, the partners will develop modular and scalable MECC reactors.

These reactors will support the establishment of a full-scale alternative refinery, enabling the production of next-generation fuels and chemicals for the chemical and mobility industries.

Entity 1’s first MECC reactor has been installed at PGI’s Kangra facility, with trial production scheduled to begin this week. The alliance combines PGI’s execution capabilities with Entity 1’s proprietary MECC technology to build a versatile waste-to-value platform.

Dr Kaushik Palicha, Founder of Entity 1, said, “This collaboration redefines bio-waste as a strategic resource. By integrating advanced MECC reactors with PGI’s industrial expertise, we are creating avenues for sustainable hydrogen and methanol production to serve manufacturing and transport industries.”

Vikas Gupta, CEO of Premier Green Innovations Pvt Ltd, added, “Our partnership with Entity 1 will drive innovation in waste valorisation, directly contributing to India’s climate and energy transition goals.”
