Mumbai: Afcons Infrastructure Limited, the flagship infrastructure engineering and construction company of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, announced significant leadership changes with the elevation of Shapoorji Mistry to Chairman Emeritus, appointment of Krishnamurthy Subramanian as Executive Chairman, and induction of Pallon S Mistry to its Board of Directors.

After serving on the Board of Afcons for more than 25 years, including over 13 years as Chairman, Shapoorji Mistry will now move into the honorary position of Chairman Emeritus.

Shapoorji Mistry Transitions to Chairman Emeritus Role

While this role is non-board, it will allow him to continue offering guidance, mentorship, and support to both the Board and Afcons’ leadership team. This transition reinforces Afcons’ status as a professionally managed organisation while continuing to benefit from Mistry’s strategic counsel.

The Board acknowledged Shapoorji Mistry’s pivotal role in Afcons’ remarkable growth journey between FY2012 and FY2025. During this period, the company’s turnover expanded nearly fivefold to ₹13,023 crore, EBITDA grew at a CAGR of more than 14.5%, and the order book surged over fivefold to ₹36,869 crore.

Pallon S Mistry Joins Afcons Board

As part of the leadership renewal, Pallon S Mistry has been inducted into the Afcons Board, marking the representation of the next generation of the Shapoorji Pallonji family. His inclusion is expected to further align Afcons’ long-term growth strategy with the group’s vision, while ensuring continued professional independence in its management.

Krishnamurthy Subramanian Elevated as Executive Chairman

Krishnamurthy Subramanian, who has been with Afcons for over 22 years and previously served as Executive Vice Chairman, has been elevated as Executive Chairman.

Having led the company as Managing Director and later as Vice Chairman & Managing Director for more than 15 years, Subramanian has played an instrumental role in strengthening Afcons’ global reputation for execution excellence, governance, and organizational culture.

Under his leadership, Afcons successfully delivered several landmark projects, including the Chenab Railway Bridge in Jammu & Kashmir, Atal Tunnel in Himachal Pradesh, India’s first underwater tunnel for Kolkata Metro, Sohar Jetty in Oman, and the New Owendo International Port in Gabon.
