STPI Electropreneur Park Launches 6th Open Challenge Program for ESDM Innovators

Bhubaneswar: The STPI Electropreneur Park (EP), Bhubaneswar, an Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) incubation centre, has announced the launch of its 6th Open Challenge Program (OCP).

The initiative aims to empower startups, innovators, and researchers building disruptive technologies in ESDM by providing seed funding, advanced labs, mentorship, and global exposure.

Established by the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) with support from MeitY, Govt. of India, and Govt. of Odisha, the STPI Electropreneur Park is part of a PAN-India initiative to strengthen India’s ESDM ecosystem.

The STPI Electropreneur Park has already nurtured over 150 startups that have contributed to product innovation, IP creation, and revenue generation.

The incubation centre provides:

  • Seed grants of up to ₹2 lakhs for incubated startups.
  • Access to advanced CoE labs with PCB prototyping machines, SMT lines, and testing equipment.
  • Plug-and-play infrastructure and high-speed internet.
  • Mentoring by industry leaders and domain experts.
  • Marketing, patenting, and financial support.
  • Sponsorship to national and international events.
  • AWS credits worth $5,000 and free MATLAB/Simulink software for 12 months.

Open Challenge Program: Focus Areas

The 6th Open Challenge Program of STPI Electropreneur Park focuses on:

  • Semiconductor design and low-power hardware.
  • Embedded systems, IoT, robotics, and computer vision.
  • Smart city solutions in traffic, energy, and surveillance.
  • Agri-tech solutions using drones, UAVs, and AI/ML.
  • Disaster management and energy monitoring systems.

The OCP will follow a multi-tier selection process, including pre-screening and evaluation by a Startup Selection and Evaluation Committee. Selected startups will be onboarded for incubation and provided comprehensive support for prototyping, product development, and commercialization.

Who Can Apply

Eligible applicants include:

  • DPIIT-recognized startups under Startup India.
  • Entrepreneurs, academicians, LLPs, researchers, and innovators.
  • Early-stage and scalable ventures with high employment potential.

Applications are open until August 31, 2025.
