Pune: The IndSearch Institute of Management highlighted the evolving role of women in the corporate world through a special programme that underscored the increasing presence and influence of women professionals across industries.

The event, organised by IndSearch Institute of Management, reflected how changing social dynamics are positively shaping women’s education and economic empowerment in India.

As part of its International Women’s Day celebrations, IndSearch Institute of Management hosted a felicitation ceremony and a panel discussion on “Successful Contribution and Growth of Women in the Corporate Sector.”

The discussion brought together leading women professionals who shared insights into career growth, leadership, and the future of women in business.

The panel featured Aru Uppal, Head of HR – Global People Status at Intangles; Shilpa Nimbalkar, HR Head (AVP) at Bitwise; and Neha Kulkarni, Head of HR – PSBU Engineering at Cummins India. Aparna Tendulkar, Director of IndSearch Institute of Management, was also present on the occasion.

Speaking at the event, Aru Uppal noted that women today are receiving increasing opportunities in the corporate sector. “To make the most of these opportunities, we must acquire knowledge across diverse fields and avoid limiting ourselves to a single domain. Understanding areas such as production, marketing, and other functions can help achieve greater career growth,” she said.

Shilpa Nimbalkar emphasised the importance of confidence in achieving professional success. “It is important to stand firm on one’s views and present them positively and convincingly. With this ability, individuals can certainly succeed in the corporate world,” she stated.

She further added, “Instead of seeking special concessions as women, it is more beneficial for women to acquire knowledge and opportunities on par with men, which can help them progress faster.”

Neha Kulkarni highlighted the changing dynamics within corporate leadership. “While the number of women has increased at the management level in the corporate sector, their representation in top leadership roles remains relatively low,” she observed.

She also pointed out that rapid technological advancements are reshaping the workplace. “Adopting modern technologies such as AI can significantly support women’s personal and professional growth,” she added.

The programme organised by IndSearch Institute of Management concluded with the felicitation of the panelists, who were honoured with a “Certificate of Honour.”

The event witnessed the presence of several academic leaders including Dr. Aparna Tembulkar, Dr. Suwarna Shidore, Dr. Avinash Joshi, Dr. Megha Bagade, Prof. Varsha Kedar, Dr. Bidhisha Sarkhel, and Prof. Ritesh Giri.

The panel discussion was moderated by Vidula Kulkarni and Tej Sharma, while the programme was compered by Sumedh Waghmare and Shravani Kulkarni.
