Bengaluru: ZF Group, a global leader in mobility and transportation technology, has officially inaugurated its Digital Development Hub in Bengaluru, Karnataka – its largest SaaS development centre outside of Europe.

This state-of-the-art facility will serve as the digital nerve center for the company’s flagship SCALAR fleet orchestration platform, a next-generation solution that leverages artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and mobile technology to transform commercial vehicle operations worldwide.

Spanning 33,300 sq. ft, the new Digital Development Hub underscores ZF’s deepening commitment to India’s tech ecosystem and its growing role in the global connected mobility landscape.

The Bengaluru hub currently tracks over 150,000 commercial vehicles in India via SCALAR, providing real-time fleet insights that boost operational efficiency, safety, and predictive maintenance capabilities.

“This is ZF’s largest digital development hub outside Europe. It represents not only an expansion of our engineering footprint but also a significant acceleration of our global innovation capabilities,” said P Kaniappan, Senior Vice President, Commercial Vehicle Solutions (India), ZF Group.

End-to-End Product Innovation for Fleet Management

Unlike conventional software centers, the Bengaluru hub offers complete product ownership. Teams of engineers, data scientists, designers, and product leaders will be responsible for end-to-end development—from product management and UI/UX design to cloud architecture and backend infrastructure.

“With SCALAR, we are shaping the future of fleet orchestration. The Bengaluru hub brings vehicle intelligence and operations into a single digital ecosystem,” said Hjalmar Van Raemdonck, Vice President, SCALAR.

The Digital Development Hub will house around 250 employees working on both domestic and global projects. The facility is a serverless office, providing agility, cost-efficiency, and scalability—key to delivering high-impact solutions that meet the complex needs of modern fleet managers.

“This hub symbolizes our vision to create value through connected mobility. With SCALAR, we empower businesses with advanced digital tools to navigate challenges and maximize fleet performance,” said Akash Passey, President, ZF Group India.

Digital Development Hub: Driving India’s Role in Global Digital Transformation

The hub represents a strategic move to position India at the heart of ZF’s digital transformation journey. It will accelerate product development in AI-driven fleet management, mobile-first logistics applications, and real-time decision-making tools.

With this initiative, ZF aims to set a global benchmark in intelligent transportation by offering fully automated and predictive fleet orchestration that increases productivity, reduces downtime, and improves driver safety.
