KAWASAKI, Japan: Toshiba Corporation has announced the launch of the GridDB Startup Program, a strategic initiative designed to empower startups to build and scale real-time industrial solutions using GridDB Cloud, Toshiba’s distributed time-series database for Big Data and IoT systems.
Applications for the GridDB Startup Program opened on June 24, 2026.
The GridDB Startup Program has been introduced at a time when businesses are increasingly dependent on growing volumes of information.
As organizations seek to extract meaningful value from massive datasets, there is a growing need for systems capable of analyzing large-scale data accurately and reliably in real time without disrupting operations.
GridDB, Toshiba’s distributed time-series database, has been developed to address these challenges by offering reliability, low latency, and horizontal scalability.
The platform is designed to support Big Data and IoT applications that require continuous, high-speed processing of large volumes of time-series data.
The launch of the GridDB Startup Program forms part of Toshiba’s broader strategy to establish long-term partnerships with startups and encourage the co-development of innovative solutions.
Through the initiative, Toshiba aims to combine its expertise in data infrastructure with the creativity and agility of startups to generate new use cases and technology breakthroughs.
The GridDB Startup Program will focus on fostering innovation across multiple sectors, including IoT, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, smart infrastructure, healthcare, finance, real-time analytics, and other emerging technology areas.
