Hyderabad: Cyient Semiconductors has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake in Kinetic Technologies, a global leader in power management, high-performance analog, and mixed-signal integrated circuits, for a total consideration of up to USD 93 million.
The transaction positions Cyient Semiconductors to scale its presence in the $40 billion-plus global power semiconductor market while accelerating growth across data centers, electrification, automotive, networking, industrial automation, and the fast-emerging edge AI compute segment.
The acquisition represents a significant step in Cyient’s ambition to establish an ASIC-led custom power semiconductor platform.

Cyient Semiconductors Advances Custom Power Semiconductor Strategy
By combining Cyient Semiconductors’ design leadership with Kinetic Technologies’ proven portfolio of power conversion, display power, protection, and interface solutions, the company aims to address high-growth applications with differentiated, application-specific power ICs.
Kinetic Technologies brings proprietary technologies and a portfolio of more than 100 patents focused on power and protection architectures.
These capabilities are expected to accelerate custom chip development and enable Cyient Semiconductors to deliver system-level solutions that enhance performance, scalability, and cost efficiency for global customers.
As part of the transaction, Kinetic Technologies will continue to operate with its existing leadership team and engineering organization.
The company will align closely with Cyient Semiconductors’ strategic direction and board oversight, ensuring continuity for customers, partners, and employees built over nearly two decades.

Continuity of Operations and Leadership
Commenting on the development, Suman Narayan, CEO of Cyient Semiconductors, said the combination strengthens the platform strategy to address rising AI-driven power and thermal challenges, enabling faster development cycles and scalable solutions for high-volume systems across data centers, communications, medical electronics, and industrial IoT.
Kin Shum, CEO of Kinetic Technologies, noted that the partnership provides access to emerging semiconductor opportunities, talent availability in India, and long-term growth potential supported by Cyient Semiconductors.
The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, with completion expected in the coming months.
