Nitasha Shankar

Mumbai: Quantum Advisors Private Limited has appointed Nitasha Shankar as the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for its Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) Strategy under the FamilyOffice vertical.

Quantum Advisors, a SEBI-registered Portfolio Manager and sponsor of Quantum Mutual Fund, manages and advises assets exceeding ₹20,200 crore (as of June 30, 2025).

This strategic appointment reflects Quantum Advisors’ commitment to strengthening its differentiated FamilyOffice services, which are designed to help wealthy Indian families safeguard and grow their legacy wealth through disciplined, long-term investment strategies.

“We are delighted to welcome Nitasha Shankar back to Quantum as CIO,” said Ajit Dayal, Founder of Quantum Advisors. “Her extensive experience will strengthen our OCIO strategy designed for family offices, where the focus is on asset allocation and long-term compounding, not speculative gains. Quantum has championed this model since 2005.”

As India emerges as a major wealth hub – with 85,698 high-net-worth individuals (HNIs) and ranking third globally in the number of billionaires, according to Knight Frank – the demand for structured wealth management is surging. A recent Techsieresearch report estimates Indian families controlled USD 154 billion in assets in 2024 alone.

Under Quantum’s OCIO model, wealthy families can opt for a professionally managed, outsourced investment solution instead of setting up an internal family office. This service includes customized portfolios across equity, debt, and commodities, either through direct investments or curated mutual funds.

“Quantum Advisors stands out for its values-led approach rooted in simplicity, transparency, and investor focus,” said Nitasha Shankar, newly appointed CIO. “I’m excited to rejoin Quantum and lead our efforts in delivering goal-oriented outcomes for family offices through our OCIO strategy.”

Nitasha Shankar to Strengthen OCIO Strategy

Prior to this role, Nitasha Shankar served as President – Fund Management & Head of Equity Strategy at YES Securities India Ltd, where she built investment portfolios for family offices, individual investors, and institutions. She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH).

I V Subramaniam, MD of Quantum Advisors, added: “With Nitasha at the helm, our OCIO strategy will be even more tailored to the evolving needs of wealthy families. Our aim is to provide a balanced mix of stability and growth by leveraging Quantum’s decades-long track record in responsible investment management.”
