Mumbai: IndusInd Bank leadership has been significantly reinforced with a set of key senior appointments, as the Bank continues to sharpen its leadership depth and strengthen execution across priority business areas.

These appointments reflect the Bank’s strategic focus on governance, talent development, digital transformation, and long-term sustainable growth.

IndusInd Bank Leadership Appointments Across Core Functions

The latest appointments under the IndusInd Bank leadership framework span human capital, financial inclusion, data and analytics, and wholesale banking, strengthening leadership across critical growth engines.

Amitabh Kumar Singh Appointed Chief Human Resources Officer

Amitabh Kumar Singh has taken over as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at IndusInd Bank, bringing with him 28 years of extensive experience in Human Resources.

In his role, he leads the Bank’s human capital strategy with focus on succession planning, governance enhancement, organizational effectiveness, and leadership pipeline development aligned to business growth objectives.

He is also responsible for strengthening cultural alignment, digitising HR processes, and fostering a performance-driven, inclusive, and innovation-oriented work environment.

Prior to joining IndusInd Bank, Singh spent over two decades with the ICICI Group, including serving as CHRO at ICICI Home Finance. He holds a postgraduate qualification in Human Resources (PMIR) from XISS, Ranchi.

Tapobrat Chaudhuri Named Managing Director & CEO of BFIL

Tapobrat Chaudhuri has been appointed as Managing Director & CEO of Bharat Financial Inclusion Ltd (BFIL).

With over 26 years of experience across microfinance, retail, and rural lending, he will focus on strengthening asset quality, improving collections, reducing delinquencies, optimizing costs, and enhancing operational synergies between IndusInd Bank and BFIL.

His mandate also includes reinforcing compliance and governance frameworks while driving granular retail expansion. Previously, Chaudhuri served as President & Business Head – Microfinance at Kotak Mahindra Bank and has held leadership roles at Axis Bank and the State Bank of India Group.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science from Ranchi University and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (CAIIB).

IndusInd Bank Leadership: Balaji Narayanamurthy Appointed Chief Data Officer

As part of the strengthened IndusInd Bank leadership team, Balaji Narayanamurthy has been appointed Chief Data Officer.

With over 25 years of experience across banking, analytics, data science, technology, and artificial intelligence, he will lead the Bank’s data strategy, advanced analytics, AI initiatives, business intelligence, and data engineering functions.

Before joining IndusInd Bank, he served at Axis Bank in leadership roles including President & Head – Business Intelligence Unit and Head of Enterprise AI. His earlier experience includes senior analytics leadership roles at Barclays US and Capital One, and he began his career with Citibank India.

Narayanamurthy holds an engineering degree from IIT Chennai and a PGDM from IIM Lucknow.

IndusInd Bank Leadership: Ganesh Sankaran Appointed Head – Wholesale Banking Group

Ganesh Sankaran has been appointed Head – Wholesale Banking Group at IndusInd Bank, bringing over three decades of experience across wholesale banking, retail credit, and SME banking.

In this role, he will lead strategy and business development across corporate banking, institutional and government banking, SME and mid-market segments, new-age economy sectors, real estate, agri-business, supply chain finance, transaction banking, and structured finance.

Sankaran has previously held senior leadership positions at Axis Bank, Federal Bank, and HDFC Bank, and has served on the boards of Axis Capital, Equirus Capital, and Fedbank Financial Services, including as Executive Director at Federal Bank.
