Zoomcar EV Experience Insight Report Highlights Why Hands-On Usage Matters for EV Growth

Zoomcar EV Experience Insight Report

Bengaluru: Zoomcar Holdings, Inc. (OTCQB: ZCAR), the peer-to-peer car-sharing marketplace, has released its Zoomcar EV Experience Insight Report, asserting that India’s electric vehicle (EV) adoption challenge is driven more by limited real-world exposure than by lack of consumer intent.

Despite increasing policy momentum, electric vehicles currently account for only about 2% of new passenger vehicle sales in India.

According to the Zoomcar EV Experience Insight Report, three key barriers continue to slow adoption -charging access friction, concerns around battery health, and low familiarity with EV performance in everyday conditions.

Zoomcar emphasises that short-term, real-life EV usage can significantly reduce consumer hesitation compared to conventional showroom test drives.

Zoomcar EV Experience Insight Report Highlights Findings from Metro Pilots

Insights from Zoomcar’s EV pilots across select metropolitan cities showed strong renter interest, particularly for urban commuting, airport transfers, and short-distance travel.

The Zoomcar EV Experience Insight Report notes that EVs performed best in city-centric mobility use cases, reinforcing their suitability for daily urban transportation needs.

However, the pilots also revealed recurring challenges. These included charging anxiety on longer routes, inconsistent availability of fast chargers along highways and tourist corridors, limited access to home charging for hosts living in apartment complexes, and increased vehicle downtime due to charging cycles.

2026 Seen as a Scaling Opportunity for Experience-Led EV Mobility

Looking ahead, Zoomcar identifies 2026 as a practical window to scale EV access across its marketplace.

The Zoomcar EV Experience Insight Report points to the next phase of EV policy support, expanding public and private charging infrastructure, and improving network coverage as key enablers for wider adoption.

The company plans to collaborate with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), charging infrastructure providers, and policy stakeholders to develop a structured EV experience programme.

This initiative aims to allow consumers to use electric vehicles in real-world conditions for a few days before making a purchase decision.

Commenting on the findings, Deepankar Tiwari, CEO of Zoomcar, said, “India doesn’t have a demand problem – it has an experience gap.

Giving people access to EVs for just two to three days can accelerate adoption more effectively than any marketing campaign. As India progresses toward its 2030 EV goals, experience-led mobility will be fundamental.”
