Zomato and Blinkit Expand Government Scheme Facilitation Drive, Enroll 9,000+ Delivery Partners

Government Scheme Facilitation

Pune: Eternal companies Zomato and Blinkit, in collaboration with Haqdarshak, organized the fourth Government Scheme Facilitation camp in Pune as part of a nationwide initiative aimed at improving delivery partners’ access to welfare schemes.

The Government Scheme Facilitation initiative continues to expand its footprint across major cities, strengthening social security access for gig workers.

The Pune camp was graced by Saurabh Chaturvedi, National Head – NPS Distribution & Strategy, HDFC Pension, who attended as the Guest of Honour.

Through this Government Scheme Facilitation drive, the companies aim to bridge awareness gaps and simplify access to government-backed benefits for delivery partners.

Since its launch in April 2025, the Government Scheme Facilitation camps have been conducted in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Pune. Collectively, these camps have enabled registrations for over 9,000 delivery partners, unlocking entitlements worth more than ₹200 crore.

Delivery partners have shown strong participation in schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (health insurance), ration cards, e-Shram (centralised database of unorganised workers), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (life insurance), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (personal accident insurance), and the National Pension Scheme for retirement savings.

The Government Scheme Facilitation effort has also seen an increasing trend of delivery partners opting for multiple coverages, combining health, life, and accident insurance for enhanced financial protection.

Saurabh Chaturvedi, National Head – NPS Distribution & Strategy, HDFC Pension, emphasized, “At HDFC Pension, we believe financial protection and retirement readiness should be within reach for every individual, including those in the gig economy. Platforms like Haqdarshak play a critical role in bridging awareness gaps and bringing last-mile communities closer to formal social security systems.

Through initiatives like these, we aim to empower delivery partners with the knowledge and tools needed to build a financially secure future. At HDFC Pension, we remain committed to supporting inclusive growth by empowering individuals with the tools and knowledge to secure their futures.”

Speaking on the initiative, Anjalli Ravi Kumar, Chief Sustainability Officer, Eternal, said, “At Zomato and Blinkit, delivery partners are the true backbone of our organisation. Collaborating with Haqdarshak allowed us to address one of their most critical needs: driving awareness and facilitating access to government welfare schemes.

Across four editions hosted around the country, we witnessed thousands of delivery partners invest their time not just in improving their livelihoods, but in safeguarding their families’ futures. This reflects a meaningful shift from focusing on immediate earnings to embracing long-term security.”

Savita Mule, Chief Technology Officer, Haqdarshak, added, “Technology has the power to simplify access to welfare, but only when it is designed with people at the centre.

At Haqdarshak, we leverage tech to simplify the discovery of government schemes and make them easily accessible for underserved communities. Initiatives like this camp demonstrate how the right blend of technology and on-ground support can help delivery partners seamlessly access entitlements and build greater financial security.”

The Government Scheme Facilitation initiative forms part of Eternal’s broader efforts to enhance delivery partner wellbeing. These include 24/7 SOS ambulance services available in over 800 cities, accidental and medical insurance coverage, access to pension products, and assistance with income tax filing.

Women delivery partners also benefit from two period rest days each month and maternity support – further reinforcing the company’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable workforce welfare through Government Scheme Facilitation programs.
