Pune: In a major boost to higher education access for rural girls, Vidyarthi Sahayyak Samiti has expanded its hostel infrastructure in Pune.
The NGO, which has been supporting economically disadvantaged students for over 70 years, announced that admissions for the academic year 2024–25 will begin from June 6 via www.samiti.org.
To meet rising demand, the organization has added two new girls’ hostels, increasing accommodation capacity by 336 seats. With this, the total number of students housed by the Samiti has surpassed 1,200, of which 700+ are girls.
This expansion is particularly significant for students from underprivileged rural backgrounds who have secured admission to colleges in Pune and Ahilyanagar but face challenges in finding safe, affordable housing. The Samiti’s initiative makes education more accessible and secure, especially for girls from farming and daily-wage families.

Apart from low-cost lodging and nutritious meals, Vidyarthi Sahayyak Samiti also organizes personality development programs, mentorship sessions, and academic support to empower students holistically.
