Davos, Switzerland: The Government of Telangana has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Blaize Inc. at the World Economic Forum in Davos to launch the Telangana AI Innovation Hub, reinforcing the state’s ambition to emerge as a global centre for applied, industry-driven artificial intelligence.
The MoU outlines the intent to establish the Telangana AI Innovation Hub as a platform to accelerate applied AI initiatives aligned with government-led priorities.
As part of the collaboration, Blaize proposes to set up a Research and Development (R&D) Centre in Telangana, focused on advanced AI computing to support applied research, pilot programmes, and deployment-oriented AI projects.
Telangana AI Innovation Hub to Enable Applied AI Research and Deployments
Under the MoU, the Telangana AI Innovation Hub will work with Blaize and relevant line departments and ministries of the Government of Telangana to identify and structure potential AI initiatives.
These initiatives may progress through pilot stages and into deployment or implementation, subject to applicable approvals, policies, and project-specific agreements.
The framework outlined in the MoU specifies that any pilots or implementations will be executed through separate agreements defining scope, funding, and deliverables, in accordance with prevailing guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Building an Applied AI Ecosystem Through the Telangana AI Innovation Hub
The Telangana AI Innovation Hub is envisioned as an enabling platform designed to advance applied AI innovation across public sector use cases, infrastructure modernisation, and real-world deployments.
The initiative aims to combine advanced AI computing capabilities with domain-specific applications to support economic development, sustainability goals, and improved public service delivery.
Through the Telangana AI Innovation Hub, the state government intends to facilitate collaboration with industry partners while enabling necessary approvals and coordination under existing state policies.
Sanjay Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (ITE&C) and Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Telangana, said that the collaboration provides a structured pathway to explore AI-driven pilots across critical sectors, with a focus on governance, sustainability, and economic growth.
Dinakar Munagala, Co-Founder and CEO of Blaize, stated that the MoU represents a step toward translating applied AI into scalable and impactful outcomes.
He highlighted Telangana’s vision of moving AI from innovation to real-world deployments across infrastructure, sustainability, and public services through collaboration with the Telangana AI Innovation Hub.
Phani Nagarjuna, CEO of the Telangana AI Innovation Hub, said the launch of the hub marks a new phase in the state’s AI journey.
He noted that the collaboration with Blaize is intended to strengthen the applied AI ecosystem by connecting advanced computing platforms with government-led use cases, enabling ideas to progress into pilots and deployments with measurable impact.
