Project NAMAN: Axis Bank to Support Pension Facilitation for Army Veterans Across 13 States

Project NAMAN

New Delhi: In a significant move to enhance the welfare of Army veterans and their families, Axis Bank has signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Army and CSC e-Governance Services India Limited to support Project NAMAN.

This strategic collaboration aims to streamline pension delivery and welfare services through the establishment of facilitation centres across India.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Lieutenant General Ranjeet Singh, DG DC&W; Brigadier Mandeep Singh, SM, Brig DIAV; Mohit Jain, Executive Vice President – Bharat Banking, Axis Bank; and Harish Oberoi, Vice President, CSC e-Governance Services.

Under this initiative, Axis Bank will support the establishment of facilitation centres that provide accessible, efficient pension-related services to retired Army personnel, war widows, and next-of-kin (NOK).

These centres will operate within the framework of SPARSH (System for Pension Administration – Raksha), a digital pension platform launched by the Ministry of Defence.

25 CSC-operated facilitation centres will be launched across 13 states, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Rajasthan, and others. These centres will act as single-window platforms offering SPARSH-based pension services, Government-to-Citizen (G2C) services, and Business-to-Consumer (B2C) offerings.

Each centre will be managed by Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs), who will preferably be selected from Army veterans or NOKs by the Local Military Authorities. These VLEs will be onboarded and trained by CSC e-Governance to ensure quality service delivery to the veteran community.

Munish Sharda, Executive Director, Axis Bank, stated, “We are proud to collaborate with the Indian Army and CSC e-Governance for Project NAMAN. This initiative reflects our deep respect for the Armed Forces and reinforces our commitment to inclusive nation-building by supporting those who have served the country with honour.”

Brigadier Mandeep Singh, SM, Brig DIAV, said, “This partnership marks a major step forward in building a seamless and dignified welfare ecosystem for veterans and their families. With support from Axis Bank and CSC, we aim to ensure every veteran gets the support they deserve.”

Sanjay Rakesh, MD & CEO, CSC e-Governance Services, added, “Project NAMAN symbolizes digital empowerment and inclusion for Army veterans. By establishing facilitation centres in remote locations, we are bringing critical services closer to those who need them most.”

Project NAMAN: A Heartfelt Gesture

This collaboration under Project NAMAN is a heartfelt gesture of gratitude and a progressive step toward financial inclusion, digital access, and social welfare for India’s veteran community.
