PIBM Convocation 2026: 704 Students Awarded PGDM Degrees

Pune: The Pune Institute of Business Management (PIBM) hosted its 16th convocation ceremony at its campus in Pune, celebrating the achievements of graduating students and highlighting the evolving role of technology and leadership in India’s development journey.

The PIBM convocation was attended by Sanjay Seth, Minister of State for Defence, Government of India, who graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest.

At the PIBM convocation ceremony, Raj Bhushan Choudhary, Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Government of India, attended as the Guest of Honour.

The event was also attended by several distinguished industry leaders and academic dignitaries including Ankit Chugh, Partner, Grant Thornton Bharat LLP; Manish Jain, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Choice AMC Private Limited (Choice Mutual Fund); Dr. Manohar Chaskar, Vice-Chancellor, Swami Ramanand Teerth University, Nanded; Kanwal Deep Singh, Managing Director, CEO & Board Member, Mubea India; and Kavindra Mishra, Managing Director and CEO, Shoppers Stop.

Addressing the gathering at the PIBM convocation, Sanjay Seth emphasized the role of young Indians in shaping the country’s future as India approaches 2047, marking 100 years of independence.

He said, “As the country moves towards 2047 – marking 100 years of independence – the youth of today are the true brand ambassadors of Viksit Bharat.”

Highlighting India’s demographic strength, he noted that with more than 60 crore people under the age of 30, the nation’s young population reflects energy, enthusiasm, and motivation. He added that with the current pace and direction of development, India is on an unstoppable path of growth.

Speaking further during the PIBM ceremony, Seth referred to the recently held AI summit in Delhi, describing it as a significant step that helped change the perception that artificial intelligence could reduce job opportunities.

He stated, “AI will play a significant role in shaping India’s future and strengthening its global image.”

According to him, AI has become a major area of focus for today’s youth and will support development across sectors including healthcare, agriculture, and urban management, particularly in areas such as traffic systems. He stressed that society must move beyond the fear that AI will replace jobs, emphasizing that Indian youth are as capable and talented as young people anywhere in the world.

He also highlighted the role of start-ups and MSMEs, noting that they are already doing remarkable work and contributing significantly to innovation and economic growth in the country.

PIBM Convocation: Important Milestone for Graduating Students

Speaking at the PIBM convocation, Ramanpreet, Chairman, PIBM, spoke about the importance of skill-based education and its role in enhancing employability among young graduates.

He said, “Skilled education can create numerous job opportunities and enhance employability. Young people can either work in companies or start their own ventures.”

He further noted that creating something meaningful requires a clear vision, disciplined thinking toward goals, and a strong sense of purpose. According to him, remaining committed to one’s goals even in the face of failures is essential for achieving long-term success.

Ramanpreet added that in a time when lakhs of students with strong skills and similar competencies are graduating, what truly differentiates individuals is persistence and the determination to continuously grow.

He said that to progress in life, individuals must develop a clear vision and purpose, supported by strong willpower, discipline, and dedicated hard work. Such an approach not only leads to personal success but also benefits society and contributes positively to the broader community.

During the PIBM convocation ceremony, a total of 704 students were awarded PGDM degrees across eight specialized domains. These included Business Analytics, Core HR, Core Finance, Core Marketing, HR Analytics, Finance Analytics, Marketing Analytics, and Marketing Operations.

The PIBM convocation marked an important milestone for graduating students as they begin their professional journeys across corporate sectors, entrepreneurship, and emerging technology-driven industries.
