Pune: In a significant initiative to recognize and strengthen the role of tax practitioners in India’s growing economy, the Maharashtra Tax Practitioners’ Association (MTPA) will host a two-day National Tax Conference titled ‘Amrit Dnyankumbh 2025’ on May 3 and 4 in Pune.
Themed “Tax Professionals: Pillars of a $5 Trillion Economy & Beyond,” the event aims to bring together industry experts and legal professionals to discuss the evolving tax landscape.
The National Tax Conference, being held at Sahakar Bhavan, Cosmos Tower, Ganeshkhind Road, is supported by the All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (AIFTP), the GST Practitioners’ Association of Maharashtra, and the North Maharashtra Tax Practitioners Association (NMTPA).
The National Tax Conference announcement was made by Adv. Narendra Sonawane, Chairman of the National Tax Conference, alongside MTPA President Adv. Prasad Deshpande and other senior office bearers.
Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, will inaugurate the National Tax Conference on Saturday, May 3 at 9:45 AM. Eminent personalities including AIFTP President Adv. Sameer Jani, former ICAI President CMA B.M. Sharma, and other notable tax professionals will attend.
Technical sessions on Day 1 will cover critical issues such as Input Tax Credit challenges, fake invoice risks, and updates on the Direct Tax Code, with speakers like CA Asit Shah, Adv. Deepak Bapat, Dr. Girish Ahuja, and Adv. Narayan Jain. A mock debate session titled “GST Ki Sansad” will simulate real-time policy discussions.
On Day 2, speakers including Adv. Makarand Aadkar, CA Suhas Bora, CA Ishan Patkar, and CA Yogesh Ingle will delve into the Indian Justice Code and the dynamic relationship between direct and indirect taxation. A future-oriented session titled “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Tax Consultants” will be led by Adv. Manohar Samal and CA Chandrashekhar Chitale. Another expert panel will explore how the cooperative sector can support India’s journey toward a $5 trillion economy.
The conference will also introduce innovative segments like “Kaun Banega Taxpati”, a knowledge-based interactive event, and a unique “Tax OPD”, where attendees can receive expert guidance on various legal domains, including Income Tax, GST, RERA, RTI, LBT, and Cyber Law.

The event will coincide with the celebration of MTPA’s 45th Foundation Day, where veteran tax practitioners will be felicitated for their longstanding contributions to the profession.
