Ministry of Youth Affairs Announces National Youth Award 2024 with Cash Prizes up to INR 3 Lakh

New Delhi: The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, has officially opened online nominations for the National Youth Award 2024, recognizing individuals and organizations that have significantly contributed to national development and social service.

The National Youth Award aims to encourage young individuals aged 15 to 29 years to pursue excellence while developing a sense of social responsibility.

It also acknowledges the impactful work of voluntary organizations working for youth empowerment and nation-building.

National Youth Award Categories and Benefits

The award is presented annually during the National Youth Festival in two categories: Individual and Organization.

Each year, up to 20 individuals and 5 organizations may be selected, although the number of awards may vary in special cases.

  • Individual Award: Medal, certificate, and ₹1,00,000 cash prize
  • Organization Award: Medal, certificate, and ₹3,00,000 cash prize
How to Apply for the National Youth Award 2024

Nominations must be submitted online via the official portal awards.gov.in
before 30th September 2025. The Ministry has also published detailed guidelines and eligibility requirements on the same portal.

Eligibility for National Youth Award 2024

The award is open to individuals and organizations with demonstrated contributions in fields such as:

  • Health and community service
  • Research and innovation
  • Culture, art, and literature
  • Human rights promotion
  • Tourism and traditional medicine
  • Active citizenship and youth leadership
  • Sports and academic excellence
  • Smart learning initiatives

The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has urged eligible candidates and organizations to submit their applications before the deadline to ensure recognition for their contributions to nation-building.
