The scope of testing includes electrical safety, FCC/ISED compliance, functional safety, durability, climate tests (IP, UV, corrosion), and material safety such as flammability and glow wire analysis.

By offering internationally recognized certifications, the facility will provide manufacturers—particularly in eastern India—reliable services to ensure compliance with global and domestic standards. This will enable early fault detection, improve product reliability, and enhance user confidence in EVs.

EV Testing Facility: National Benchmark for Quality Assurance

The establishment of the EV Testing Facility underscores the Government of India’s commitment to building a robust EV ecosystem. It aims to reduce import dependency while empowering domestic manufacturers with affordable and high-quality testing solutions.

The National Test House (NTH) will reinforce its role as a key enabler in India’s green mobility transition and strengthen India’s global standing in quality assurance infrastructure.
