Godrej Food Trends Report

Mumbai: The Godrej Food Trends Report 2025 (GFTR) was launched in a unique and powerful format by Godrej Vikhroli Cucina, marking the eighth edition of India’s premier culinary insights compendium.

Departing from traditional launches, this year’s edition debuted through a food theatre production titled Feast for the Future, turning trend forecasting into an evocative storytelling experience. Themed “Seasons,” the 2025 edition places a strong emphasis on seasonality, emotional connection to food, and the revival of regional culinary practices.

Curated with insights from over 190 food industry experts, including chefs, mixologists, nutritionists, food writers, and entrepreneurs, the report provides a comprehensive outlook on emerging food and beverage preferences across India.

A Cultural Celebration of Indian Food Futures

Tanya Dubash, Executive Director & Chief Brand Officer, Godrej Industries, commented: “Food is not just nourishment; it is memory, identity, and culture. With each edition of Godrej Food Trends Report, we reflect India’s evolving food story. This year’s focus on seasonality signals a return to authenticity and sustainability — values that are deeply ingrained in India’s food traditions.”

Abhay Parnerkar, CEO, Godrej Foods Limited, added: “The GFTR 2025 strengthens our resolve to innovate with intent. For us, insights like these guide our product development and consumer engagement strategies.”

The theatrical launch featured four personas—a fine-dining enthusiast, a frozen food aficionado, a heritage food lover, and a social media-savvy foodie—each representing diverse food mindsets in contemporary India. This immersive approach allowed audiences to experience trends rather than just hear about them.

Curator Gia Singh Arora said, “We wanted people to feel the trends. This was food as theatre—lived, debated, and celebrated.”

Celebrity Chef Amrita Raichand called the event “a celebration of emotion, flavor, and storytelling,” adding, “This wasn’t just a launch—it was an experience that left me inspired as a chef and food lover.”

A Living Document for Culinary India

The Godrej Food Trends Report, first published in 2018, has consistently shaped dialogue across India’s culinary ecosystem—from restaurants and food brands to consumer behavior and ingredient sourcing. Previous editions correctly predicted the rise of millets, the Korean food boom, and the growing demand for clean-label products.

This year’s edition cements Godrej Food Trends Report’s place not just as a report, but as a cultural and strategic guide for India’s food stakeholders.
