Mumbai: Gaja Alternative Asset Management Limited, operating under the brand Gaja Capital, has confidentially filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), marking a major milestone in its journey as one of India’s leading private equity and alternative asset management firms.

Founded in 2004, Gaja Capital provides growth capital to mid-market companies across high-impact sectors such as education, consumer, and financial services.

In January 2025, the firm transitioned into a public limited company to align with its IPO ambitions. Earlier this month, it completed a ₹125 crore pre-IPO funding round, securing a valuation of ₹1,625 crore.

IPO to Fund New Strategies, Global Expansion

According to sources, the proceeds from the IPO will be used to seed new funds, broaden distribution capabilities in India and overseas, and diversify into new fund management strategies. The public listing is expected to enhance the firm’s visibility, credibility, and access to capital markets.
