Pune: Cybage Foundation, the CSR arm of Cybage Software Pvt. Ltd., has unveiled a fully equipped waiting facility for families visiting Yerawada Central Jail—a transformative initiative aimed at providing comfort, dignity, and relief to thousands who journey to see their loved ones behind bars.
Built under Cybage Foundation’s human-centric CSR program, this facility is more than just infrastructure—it represents a deeply empathetic approach to community support and social inclusion.
The new visitor space is designed to accommodate over 1,000 people and is equipped with:
- Sanitation units
- Drinking water stations
- Covered walkways to meeting areas
- A snack kiosk
- A feeding room for mothers
- Legal consultation room
- Streamlined registration counters
“This isn’t just about brick and mortar—it’s about recognizing and dignifying the emotional resilience of families who visit inmates,” said Ritu Nathani, Director of Cybage Foundation.
“They are the unseen sufferers in the justice ecosystem, and with this initiative, we wanted to say: ‘You are seen, and you deserve dignity.’”
This project, executed in collaboration with Yerawada Central Jail authorities and local government departments, seeks to fill a long-standing gap in prison visitor infrastructure. The facility is expected to benefit over 3.5 lakh visitors annually, many of whom travel from rural areas, often under difficult circumstances.
“This facility will ease the burden on visiting families who carry untold emotional pain,” said Sunil Dhamal, Superintendent of Yerawada Central Prison. “We are grateful to Cybage Foundation for their meaningful and compassionate contribution.”
