Pune: CREDAI Pune hosted its General Body Meeting (GBM) 2026 at the Sheraton Grand Pune, bringing together over 200 member developers, policymakers, and industry experts to deliberate on the future of Pune’s urban development and real estate ecosystem.
The meeting highlighted the role of CREDAI Pune in strengthening transparency, collaboration, and innovation in the city’s rapidly evolving property sector.
The event was attended by leading real estate developers and industry leaders who were addressed by Manish Jain, President of CREDAI Pune, along with the association’s vice presidents.
During the session, the leadership highlighted the various initiatives undertaken by CREDAI Pune over the past year, including policy advocacy, member engagement, and industry collaboration aimed at strengthening the real estate sector and promoting responsible development.
Murlidhar Mohol Calls for Collective Efforts to Preserve Pune’s Liveability
The chief guest for the evening, Murlidhar Mohol, addressed the gathering and praised CREDAI Pune for its efforts in promoting transparency and responsible growth within the real estate sector. He emphasised the crucial role played by the construction sector in shaping modern cities and improving the quality of life for citizens.
He remarked: “The construction sector plays a vital role in shaping the urban landscape by driving planned development, modern infrastructure, and improving citizens’ quality of life. In the context of rapid urbanisation, the industry must continue to prioritise responsible, environmentally conscious, and sustainable development.
Organisations like CREDAI help maintain transparency and quality within the sector, and developers, the administration, and citizens must work together to build a well-planned and sustainable Pune.”
Infrastructure and Connectivity Key to Pune’s Growth
During his address, Mohol also highlighted the importance of infrastructure development and connectivity in sustaining Pune’s liveability.
With Pune’s population nearing seven million within the city limits and a significant floating population, long-term urban planning is becoming increasingly critical.
He noted that public transport expansion will play a central role in shaping the city’s future. “The first 32 km of the Pune Metro is already operational—something many once believed would never happen. With new corridors progressing and receiving approvals, Pune could have nearly 150 km of metro connectivity over the next two to three years.”
Air connectivity is also expected to improve significantly. Developments at Pune Airport are expected to allow wide-bodied aircraft operations, while major infrastructure projects such as the Missing Link are expected to strengthen regional connectivity.
Mohol also shared the broader vision for Pune’s growth as a global innovation hub.
“Our vision is to make Pune a global capability centre capital and a hub for innovation, with projects like the Bharat Mandapam Innovation Centre planned near the airport. These developments will ensure that citizens can access better infrastructure, seamless connectivity and an even higher quality of life.”
