Pune: In a major step toward transforming education access in rural Maharashtra, Christel House India, a globally acclaimed non-profit organization, has partnered with Pune Zilla Parishad to launch Jyoti Savitri International School (JSIS) in Khanavdi, Purandar Taluka.
This public-private partnership is rooted in the values of social reformers Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule, who pioneered inclusive education for girls and marginalized communities.

Set to open in April 2026, JSIS will begin with grades KG to 2 and gradually scale up to serve 1,840 students through Grade 12.
The initiative combines the resources of the government and the private sector to deliver free, high-quality education, particularly focusing on destitute girls and underserved children in rural areas.
Spread across a 12-acre campus, the school is being developed with support from Pune Zilla Parishad, architectural services from Pensive Architecture, and infrastructure funding through FIAPL’s CSR initiative.
Phase 1 includes administrative facilities, 24 classrooms, laboratories, activity zones, and sanitation units- ensuring a well-rounded educational environment.

Under this partnership:
- Pune Zilla Parishad oversees infrastructure development
- Christel House India handles all academic operations, admissions, and implementation

Built on the Christel House 360° model, the school will offer:
- Academics aligned with CBSE curriculum
- Nutrition, healthcare, transportation, and school supplies
- Social-emotional development and life skills
- College & Careers support for five years post-graduation
- A future residential facility for girl students from Grade 5 onward
