New Delhi: The Ministry of Steel, Government of India, has invited applications for the Bharat Steel Awards 2026, a newly introduced national award scheme aimed at recognising exemplary performance and significant contributions across key segments of the Indian steel sector.
The Bharat Steel Awards 2026 have been instituted to acknowledge excellence among companies, teams, and individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in operational efficiency, sustainability, innovation, safety, exports, and sectoral development.

Bharat Steel Awards 2026: Award Categories Announced
Under the Bharat Steel Awards, honours will be conferred across seven distinct categories, covering a wide spectrum of contributions within the steel industry. These include:
- Efficiency Award (Company)
- Export Award (Company)
- Sustainability Award (Company)
- Indigenization Award (Team)
- Innovation through R&D Award (Team)
- Safety Award (Company & Team)

Exceptional Contribution in Steel Sector Award (Individual)
Applications for the Bharat Steel Awards 2026 are to be submitted online through the Ministry of Steel’s official awards portal.
Detailed guidelines outlining eligibility criteria, application procedures, and other terms and conditions are available on the same platform and can also be accessed via the Government of India’s awards portal.
The application window for the Bharat Steel Awards 2026 opened on January 9, 2026, and the last date for submission is February 7, 2026.
