AI Workforce for Construction: Powerplay Launches Platform to Automate Core Industry Workflows

AI Workforce for Construction

Pune: Powerplay announced the launch of India’s first AI Workforce for Construction, introducing five domain-trained AI agents designed to automate core workflows across estimation, procurement, finance, and project management.

The company expects the AI Workforce for Construction to drive significant business growth, projecting revenue to grow by 500% in FY2027, supported by increased adoption of AI-driven services across its customer base.

Early deployments of the AI Workforce for Construction platform have already demonstrated measurable operational impact.

According to the company, estimation timelines have been reduced from weeks to minutes, while productivity gains of 50–60% have been observed across key project workflows.

The AI Workforce for Construction platform is built on operational data generated from more than 85,000 construction projects executed using Powerplay’s software over the past four years.

This dataset – spanning bills of quantities, procurement cycles, billing workflows, and compliance records – has enabled the development of standardized execution playbooks that now power the company’s AI systems.

With this launch, the AI Workforce for Construction introduces five AI agents covering estimation, procurement, supplier qualification, demand forecasting, compliance, and working capital readiness.

These agents are trained on real construction workflows, including drawings, vendor purchase orders, and GST compliance patterns. This allows them to operate within the practical realities of Indian construction businesses, rather than functioning as generic software tools.

Powerplay stated that the AI Workforce for Construction maintains accuracy levels of up to 99% by incorporating a human-in-the-loop model.

This ensures that AI-generated outputs are reviewed and validated before critical decisions are finalized, enabling the company to offer outcome-based pricing to its customers.

AI Workforce for Construction: Expanding Across Full Lifecycle of Construction Projects

The launch of the AI Workforce for Construction reflects a broader shift in how technology is being deployed across the construction industry – from systems that primarily record activity to platforms that actively execute routine operational work.

“Construction is one of the largest industries in the country, contributing nearly 9% of GDP and employing millions of people, yet it continues to operate with a persistent shortage of specialized expertise – from estimation engineers to procurement coordinators,” said Iesh Dixit, Founder and CEO of Powerplay.

“What we’re seeing globally is the rise of vertical AI – systems trained on real workflows that can automate work in industries that were previously too complex for generic software. Construction, with its fragmented processes and heavy reliance on manual coordination, is one of the most consequential frontiers for that shift.

For us, AI was a natural evolution – the models finally caught up to the data we had built over years. Our ambition is to make sure India is not just adopting this transformation, but helping lead it,” he added.

Looking ahead, Powerplay plans to expand the AI Workforce for Construction across the full lifecycle of a construction project, from the initial cost estimation stage to final financial reconciliation.

Each AI agent operates independently within the platform, enabling companies to adopt automation incrementally while maintaining human oversight over critical decisions.

Founded by entrepreneurs with firsthand experience in construction operations, Powerplay initially focused on solving fragmentation in project execution.

Traditionally, site teams, procurement teams, and finance teams operate through disconnected systems and delayed information flows.

Over time, the platform has evolved into a comprehensive operational system used by contractors and developers managing complex, multi-site projects.

The company expects that the AI Workforce for Construction will accelerate adoption among general contractors, infrastructure developers – including renewable energy and data centers – and project companies seeking greater predictability in timelines, costs, and financial performance.
