  • One Store Every Two Weeks! Pressto’s Big Expansion Plan Includes Five More Pune Outlets

    Pressto Store Expansion

Pune: Pressto, the global premium garment, shoe and bag care brand, has entered the Pune market with the launch of its flagship store in Kalyani Nagar.

With this launch, the company now operates two stores in Pune, including its flagship outlet in Kalyani Nagar and a service store in Koregaon Park.

The company plans to open five more stores in Pune as part of its nationwide expansion strategy, targeting more than 100 outlets by March 2027.

Sumant Kasliwal, MD & CEO of Pressto India, addressed influencers and members of the media at the launch of the Kalyani Nagar flagship store.

One of Europe’s largest garment care brands, Pressto has a global presence and has been operating in India for more than 18 years. It is an established name in premium dry cleaning and laundry services across Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

With its Pune entry, Pressto aims to bring its premium garment, shoe and bag care services to customers in the city.

Its offerings include dry cleaning, laundry, pressing, alterations and darning for everyday clothing, suits, sarees and wedding outfits.

The company also provides professional shoe and bag cleaning, repair and restoration services.

Pressto offers free pickup and drop for every order through its dedicated delivery network. Express services are also available for selected categories.

Sumant Kasliwal, MD & CEO of Pressto India, said: “Pune is one of India’s fastest-growing cities, a place where centuries of heritage meet a young, global and ambitious generation.

Punekars dress for every occasion and take pride in what they wear, whether it’s a Paithani saree, a favourite pair of sneakers or an heirloom passed down through generations.

Until now, the city hasn’t had a garment care partner that matches that pride. Pressto Kalyani Nagar changes that, bringing our full range of garment, shoe and bag care, including expert restoration, under one roof.”

Pressto Handles Over 20 Lakh Garments Annually

Pressto handles garment care orders at a rate of approximately one garment every 10 seconds, seven days a week.

The company looks after more than 20 lakh garments annually, including 1,00,000 suit jackets and blazers, 50,000 sarees and 15,000 wedding outfits.

In addition to garment care, Pressto cleans and restores more than one lakh pairs of shoes and bags every year.

The company’s services cover a range of garment categories, from everyday clothing to premium designer wear and traditional Indian outfits. Its operations also include specialised care for garments that require delicate handling, cleaning and restoration.

Pressto Operates Company-Owned Stores Across India

One of the distinguishing features of Pressto’s business model is that it operates all its stores directly, without franchisees.

The company is the only large operator in its segment in India to follow this company-owned and company-operated model.

Every Pressto store follows standard operating procedures (SOPs) developed around global best practices. The stores use the same technology and are managed by dedicated, trained Pressto teams.

This operating model is designed to ensure consistency in service quality across locations. Customers visiting a Pressto outlet in Pune receive the same service standards as those visiting its stores in South Mumbai, Delhi or Bengaluru.

Every garment undergoes an inspection when it arrives at a store. Stains are treated using specialised spotting equipment, ultrasonic technology and steam equipment as part of the cleaning process.

Specialised Garment Care for Indian Wear

Over its 18 years of operations in India, Pressto has developed expertise in handling traditional Indian garments and designer wear.

Designer outfits often combine traditional Indian fabrics and colours with heavy embellishments and delicate embroidery. Such garments require specialised handling and careful treatment to protect their fabric, detailing and craftsmanship.

To address these requirements, Pressto has developed its own in-house SOPs for Indian garments. These procedures are designed to ensure that each piece receives the specialised care required by its material, embellishments and embroidery.

Explaining the company’s approach to maintaining service standards across its outlets, Kasliwal said:

“Every Pressto store is run by Pressto’s own experts, because the knowledge behind great garment care can’t be outsourced. Each member of our team goes through rigorous in-house training, with regular assessments and upskilling.

Whether you walk into our store in Kalyani Nagar or South Mumbai, you get the same standard of care. As we grow past 100 stores by March 2027, that promise will not change.”

Quality, Speed, Service and Transparency Model

Pressto follows a Quality, Speed, Service and Transparency model across its operations. Its flagship stores are designed to allow customers to see the machines and technology used to care for their garments, shoes and bags.

The company uses this approach to maintain transparency in its cleaning and restoration processes while delivering turnaround times that it describes as among the fastest in the industry.

At the newly opened Kalyani Nagar flagship store, customers can see the equipment first-hand and observe how their garments, shoes and bags are handled at different stages of the care process.

The company follows an open-store approach, allowing customers to view the technology and processes involved in caring for their belongings rather than keeping the operations behind closed doors.

Pressto Targets 100+ Stores Across India by March 2027

Pressto has accelerated its retail expansion in India, opening a new store approximately every two weeks this year. Following its latest expansion, the company operates 80 stores across nine cities.

Its current network covers Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

As part of its next phase of expansion, Pressto plans to increase its nationwide presence to more than 100 stores by March 2027. Pune will be an important part of this expansion, with the company planning to open five additional outlets in the city.

With its company-owned and company-operated model, Pressto intends to maintain consistent service standards across its expanding network.
