Pune: Tata Projects has secured a major contract from a global automotive manufacturer for its greenfield plant at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.

The contract marks a significant expansion of Tata Projects into automotive infrastructure and strengthens its position as a partner for complex industrial projects.

The project is located in the Auric-Bidkin industrial area and will cover three critical packages — the Assembly Shop, Press & Weld Shop, and Utility & Support Buildings.

The scope awarded includes civil, structural and architectural works, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems, utility networks, as well as testing, commissioning and handover.

The integrated scope will require coordination across multiple engineering disciplines and construction workstreams to support efficient execution and seamless integration of the facility’s core production and supporting infrastructure.

Tata Projects Expands Advanced Manufacturing Portfolio

The contract builds on Tata Projects’ growing capabilities in advanced manufacturing infrastructure. The company has experience across semiconductor facilities, battery plants, data centres and other technology-intensive projects.

Automotive manufacturing facilities require engineering precision, construction coordination and interface management.

The quality and sequencing of infrastructure delivery are important to the transition from construction to production.

With the new contract, Tata Projects is expanding its presence in the automotive sector while leveraging its multidisciplinary engineering, procurement and construction capabilities for a large-scale manufacturing facility.

    Rajiv Menon on Contract Win

Rajiv Menon, President & Chief Growth & Strategy Officer, Tata Projects, said, “India’s manufacturing ambitions are being shaped by investments that combine global standards, advanced technology and world-class infrastructure. We are proud to partner with a leading global automotive manufacturer in creating a facility that will contribute to this journey.

This win also represents an important step in broadening Tata Projects’ presence in advanced manufacturing. We will bring our integrated engineering and execution capabilities to the project, with an unwavering focus on safety, quality, disciplined project management and timely delivery.”

The project will bring together multiple specialist disciplines along with a broad network of partners and suppliers.

According to Tata Projects, aligning the various workstreams will support the delivery of a high-performance facility while contributing to the wider business cluster taking shape in the region.

    Specialised Industrial Infrastructure

The contract further advances Tata Projects’ strategy of pursuing growth in specialised industrial segments.

The company will use its multidisciplinary EPC capabilities to deliver a complex automotive manufacturing facility aligned with India’s evolving economic priorities.

As India continues to deepen its role in global manufacturing and attract investments across industrial sectors, the development of modern, production-ready facilities is expected to support domestic manufacturing capacity and supply-chain resilience.

Through the project, Tata Projects will contribute to industrial infrastructure supporting the next phase of manufacturing growth in Maharashtra.
