STPI 34th Foundation Day Highlights Role in Women-Led Startups and Tech-Driven Bharat Vision

STPI 34th Foundation Day

New Delhi: The Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) commemorated its STPI 34th Foundation Day, celebrating a transformative journey that has defined India’s position as a global technology powerhouse.

Since 1991, STPI has played a vital role in building India’s software export economy and nurturing a resilient tech startup ecosystem, particularly across Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

Under the theme of “Tech-Powered Bharat,” this milestone reaffirms STPI’s ongoing commitment to inclusive innovation and digital empowerment. Operating 67 centres nationwide – 59 of which are in smaller cities – STPI has emerged as a catalyst for IT excellence, startup growth, and national digital transformation.

STPI 34th Foundation Day: ₹10 Lakh Crore+ in Exports, 1400+ Startups Empowered

Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Kumar, Director General of STPI, highlighted the organization’s unprecedented impact: “From just three centres in 1991 to 67 across the country today, STPI has fueled the rise of India’s IT industry. In FY 2024-25 alone, STPI-registered units recorded software exports worth over ₹10 lakh crore. Through our 24 Centres of Entrepreneurship (CoEs) and Next Generation Incubation Scheme (NGIS), we’ve supported more than 1400 startups, helping them raise over ₹574 crore in funding.”

Driving Inclusive, Women-Led Innovation

With a robust presence across emerging cities, STPI is driving inclusive innovation. Remarkably, 44% of startups supported by STPI are led by women entrepreneurs, many from non-metropolitan regions.

Infrastructure, Security & Cloud for Digital India

STPI provides over 17 lakh sq. ft. of high-tech workspace, five Tier-3 data centers, and advanced plug-and-play incubation facilities. Startups also benefit from Ananta, STPI’s sovereign cloud platform offering IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and GPU-based services – strengthening India’s digital sovereignty.

Additionally, STPI offers Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) services to ensure cybersecurity across government and industry operations. Its SAYUJ platform, India’s only dedicated startup community network, facilitates mentor-investor-startup connections and accelerates entrepreneurial journeys.

STPI 34th Foundation Day: 2205+ Products, 1086+ IPRs and Growing

STPI’s CoEs have enabled the creation of 2205+ products and supported 1086+ IPR filings, offering end-to-end startup support from lab infrastructure and funding to go-to-market strategy and global access.

Building a Software Product Nation

Celebrating 34 years of visionary leadership and ecosystem development, STPI 34th Foundation Day shines a spotlight on India’s transition from an IT services leader to a software product nation, aligned with the goals of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Digital India.
