Rooter Expands into Gaming Commerce, Records INR 82 Cr Revenue in FY25

New Delhi: Game streaming platform Rooter has reported a robust 120% year-on-year revenue growth for FY25, reaching $10 million (₹82 crore). The leap is driven by its strategic expansion into gaming commerce, alongside sustained performance from its brand and publisher monetization channels.

Now operating at a $24 million annual recurring revenue (ARR) run rate, the company is targeting 4X growth by FY26 while remaining on course to achieve profitability within the current financial year.

In the last 12 months, the company has slashed its losses by 63%, underscoring its shift to a more sustainable and scalable business model.

“Rooter’s expansion into gaming commerce positions us as a content-to-commerce powerhouse for India’s 85+ million gamers,” said Piyush Kumar, Founder and CEO of Rooter. “The Rooter Shop is already seeing significant traction, and we expect to reach a $90 million GMV run rate by March 2026.”

Rooter Shop: Fueling the Gaming Commerce Boom

The company’s newly launched Rooter Shop has emerged as one of its fastest-growing verticals, built around the rising trend of microtransactions and in-app purchases in India. Users can now buy gaming currencies, vouchers, and gift cards, spending an average of ₹2,400 per month on the platform.

India’s in-app purchase market, which was valued at $300 million in 2022, is projected to exceed $1 billion in 2025 and grow to $4.3 billion by 2029—making the company’s early commerce push a timely and high-growth strategic move.
