Powerplay’s AI Purchase Executive has contributed to up to 4X growth in platform spend among customers adopting the company’s AI agents over approximately 18 months, as the construction technology platform expands its AI-led procurement and financing capabilities across India.
Powerplay, a construction technology platform building an AI workforce for contractors and builders, said the growth compares the same customers’ platform spend before and after adopting its AI agents.
The company’s AI Purchase Executive helps contractors compare supplier rates, track material requirements and check purchase orders against project budgets.
Alongside the AI Purchase Executive, Powerplay’s AI Credit Analyst helps organise project information and financing documents for credit applications through lending partners.
Together, these AI agents are designed to connect purchasing requirements with working-capital options, while credit decisions remain with the respective lenders.
Powerplay’s AI agents bring procurement and financing activities closer together, helping contractors manage purchasing decisions while connecting them with working capital through bank and non-banking financial company (NBFC) partners.
“For a contractor, procurement and finance cannot work in isolation. The team needs to know what a project requires, what materials will cost and whether the funds will be available when payments are due.
We are building an AI Workforce that can take on much of the coordination involved in these decisions, using the project data already available on Powerplay.
By bringing procurement and financing together, we want to help contractors and builders across India in managing their day-to-day operations more efficiently,” said Iesh Dixit, Co-founder and CEO, Powerplay.
Powerplay Marketplace Volume Reaches ₹100 Crore
Powerplay’s annualised marketplace transaction volume has increased from approximately ₹36 crore to around ₹100 crore over the past year.
Over the same period, financing volume facilitated through Powerplay’s lending partners has grown more than eightfold from a small base, with the financing activity currently spread across four cities. The company said there remains significant headroom as adoption expands.
These figures represent transaction and financing volumes facilitated through the platform.
The growth comes as India continues to expand infrastructure investment. According to the India Brand Equity Foundation’s infrastructure overview, the Union Budget for FY2026–27 provides ₹12.22 lakh crore for infrastructure capital investment.
For contractors working on projects across India, managing material purchases, supplier payments and access to working capital remains an important part of keeping projects on schedule.
Powerplay Expands AI Workforce for Construction
Powerplay has more than 40,000 construction firms and 85,000 projects represented on its platform.
The company is now looking to deepen its role in contractors’ daily operations by moving beyond helping teams track project activity to assisting with procurement and financing tasks.
The AI Purchase Executive is part of this broader AI workforce, helping contractors manage supplier comparisons, material requirements and purchase orders against project budgets.
As adoption of these AI-led workflows grows, Powerplay aims to bring more of the work involved in running a construction business onto a single platform.
The company’s AI workforce, described as the first in the construction industry, manages procurement and payments for contractors and builders across India as Powerplay expands into AI-led financing and its annualised marketplace volume reaches ₹100 crore.
