India Startup Funding Jumps 391% to $140.53M in September 18-24 Week

Pune: India startup funding rose sharply during the week of September 18-24, 2026, with startups raising $140.53 million across 17 funding rounds, according to the latest Sahyadri Startups Weekly Funding Tracker powered by Tracxn.

The funding total was up 391.13% from the previous week, when startups raised $28.61 million across 12 rounds.

The latest India startup funding figure was, however, 34.75% lower than the $215.39 million raised during September 4-10, 2026.

India Startup Funding: Late-Stage Deals Dominate

The stage-wise distribution shows a strong concentration of India startup funding in late-stage rounds during the September 18-24 period.

Late-stage funding accounted for 82.5% of the total funding during the week, while seed-stage funding contributed 11.4% and early-stage funding accounted for 6.1%.

This compares with the previous week, when late-stage funding represented 64.6% of funding, early-stage funding accounted for 35.4%, and seed-stage funding was not represented in the tracker’s percentage breakdown.

During September 4-10, late-stage funding accounted for 73.3%, early-stage funding 21.4%, and seed-stage funding 5.3%.

Ultraviolette Leads India Startup Funding With $85M Round

Ultraviolette emerged as the largest recipient in this week’s India startup funding activity, raising $85 million in a Series E round.

The Bengaluru-based electric motorcycle company raised the round from Yali Capital and TDK Ventures, with participation from Speciale Invest, Qualcomm Ventures, TVS Motor, Zoho Corporation and Lingotto. Lip-Bu Tan participated as an angel investor.

The $85 million Ultraviolette round was followed by KMC Solutions, which raised $31 million in a Series C round. The company counts TableSpace and Hillhouse Investment among its institutional investors.

Other major funding rounds during the week included:

  • Drivn — $4.7 million
  • Disha Health — $4.6 million
  • Rio Health — $4.5 million
  • Sol — $4 million
  • Definedge Securities — $2.3 million
  • Onya — $1.3 million
  • Betterhood — $1.2 million
  • Unniyarcha — $1 million

The funding tracker also recorded smaller rounds for Demoverse AI, Moromaa, Spinoto and Medoc Health, along with undisclosed funding for Physioplus, Indian Walker and TimBuckDo.

Most Active VCs in India Startup Funding

Sauce was among the most active venture capital investors during the week, participating in rounds for Betterhood and Unniyarcha.

General Catalyst participated in the funding rounds of Disha Health and Sol, while Yali Capital participated in the $85 million Ultraviolette round.

The activity highlights the range of investors participating across different stages of India startup funding during the week.

India Startup Funding: Two Acquisitions and Two IPOs

The September 18-24 period also recorded two acquisitions and two IPOs, according to the tracker.

Onesto Labs was acquired by L’Oréal on September 23, 2026. The acquisition price was undisclosed.

Meanwhile, Fintech Cloud was acquired by Indiabulls Group on September 22, 2026, in a transaction valued at $109.58 million.

On the public-market side, NSE and Speedex went public during the week.

The tracker notes that the week recorded two acquisitions and two tech IPOs.

India Startup Funding Over the Last 12 Months

The tracker also provides a monthly view of India startup funding over the past 12 months.

Funding stood at $1.404 billion in October 2025, followed by $795 million in November and $729 million in December. January 2026 recorded $1.303 billion, while February saw $1.161 billion.

March 2026 recorded the highest monthly funding in the 12-month period at $2.340 billion.

Funding subsequently stood at $658 million in April, $702 million in May, $1.405 billion in June, $1.252 billion in July, $1.011 billion in August and $672 million in September 2026.
