Pune: Absolute Sports, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nazara Technologies and the parent company of Sportskeeda.com, has announced the acquisition of two prominent pro wrestling media properties – TJRWrestling.net and ITRWrestling.com – from Titan Insider Digital.
The deal marks a significant step in Absolute Sports’ strategy to solidify its leadership in global combat sports media.
The transaction, valued at $1.25 million (~₹10.5 crore), will be completed as an all-cash asset purchase through its U.S.-based subsidiary Sportskeeda Inc., with the closing expected within 45 days.
TJRWrestling and ITRWrestling are among the most recognized wrestling news platforms globally, attracting a combined 1.7 million monthly active users and generating 4.6 million monthly pageviews, primarily from North American audiences. In 2024, the platforms together reported $722,000 (~₹6.1 crore) in revenue.
“This acquisition aligns with our vision to become the go-to destination for premium wrestling content globally,” said Ajay Pratap Singh, CEO of Absolute Sports. “ITRWrestling and TJRWrestling have built immense trust in the wrestling community, and integrating them with Sportskeeda will allow us to deepen fan engagement and enhance advertiser value.
It also strengthens our U.S. footprint, the largest pro-wrestling market in the world.”
Absolute Sports Dominance
The acquisition is set to significantly bolster Absolute Sports’ digital publishing portfolio and further establish its dominance in the combat sports ecosystem. It is also expected to create new monetization avenues and user engagement strategies through enriched content, live coverage, and interactive media formats.
With this move, Absolute Sports reaffirms its commitment to a targeted M&A strategy that accelerates growth in international markets, particularly in the fast-evolving sports and entertainment media space.
