Pune: Syngenta India announced its comprehensive roadmap to promote sustainable agriculture through biological solutions at the BioAg Congress 2025. The initiative focuses on equipping Indian farmers with science-based, residue-free alternatives to conventional crop protection methods.

As global agricultural systems confront rising demand and climate stress, Syngenta India is placing biologicals at the center of its sustainability agenda. These naturally derived solutions enhance soil health, crop resilience, and nutrient uptake, contributing to environmentally sound and economically viable farming.

“Farming today demands a balanced, multi-dimensional approach,” said Susheel Kumar, Managing Director, Syngenta India. “Biologicals are core to our vision of sustainable agriculture. They offer holistic benefits—from boosting nutrient efficiency to mitigating abiotic stresses—while aligning with the growing need for low-residue food production.”

Syngenta India Portfolio

Syngenta’s portfolio comprises biostimulants, nutrient-use efficiency enhancers, and biocontrol agents. These tools are designed to help farmers manage resistance, enhance productivity, and adapt to diverse agro-climatic conditions. The solutions complement traditional crop protection methods and are integral to Syngenta’s Integrated Crop Management (ICM) systems.

Backed by robust in-house R&D and strategic partnerships—including the acquisition of biostimulants pioneer Valagro—Syngenta aims to become a global leader in biological seed treatments and soil health technologies.

Speaking at the congress, Sanjay Kumar Tokala, Head of Biologicals at Syngenta India, highlighted the sector’s growth trajectory: “The global biologicals market is expected to reach $20 billion by 2030, and India will play a significant role. We remain open to collaborations that will strengthen our product offerings while aligning with India’s evolving regulatory framework.”

He emphasized that biologicals foster biodiversity and soil fertility while offering long-term resilience against climate volatility. “They’re not just inputs—they’re enablers of regenerative agriculture,” he added.

Vivek Sharma, Head of Marketing at Syngenta India, concluded by stating that Syngenta’s commitment spans more than a century. “We continue to support farmers across the globe through an evolving portfolio that now includes innovative biologicals, alongside seeds, crop protection, and seed care solutions.”
