New Delhi: In a significant step toward improving safety, efficiency, and user experience on India’s National Highways, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with several commercial vehicle aggregator platforms.
The collaboration aims to leverage interoperable and technology-driven solutions to enhance safety communication, driver participation, and operational efficiency for commercial vehicle drivers and fleet operators across the country.
The MoU was signed by Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL), a company promoted by NHAI, at the NHAI headquarters in New Delhi.
The partnership with commercial vehicle aggregator platforms is expected to strengthen digital engagement with drivers, improve highway safety reporting, and enable real-time information sharing for users traveling on National Highways.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Santosh Kumar Yadav, Chairman of NHAI, and Vishal Chauhan, CMD of IHMCL. Senior officials from NHAI and IHMCL, along with representatives from leading commercial vehicle aggregator platforms, attended the event.
The participating platforms include WheelsEye Technology India Pvt. Ltd., BlackBuck Ltd., TrucksUp Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Sarvodaya Infotech Pvt. Ltd. (TruckSuvidha), and Saffron Navigators Pvt. Ltd..
During the event, the NHAI Chairman also felicitated commercial drivers under the ‘Vishisht Saarthi’ recognition initiative for following safe and responsible driving practices on National Highways.

Integration with Rajmargyatra App for Real-Time Safety Alerts
As part of the collaboration with commercial vehicle aggregator platforms, the platforms will integrate the Rajmargyatra App to enable timely and actionable safety communication for drivers.
Through this integration, commercial vehicle aggregator platforms will deliver real-time safety alerts to drivers, including information about accident-prone stretches, road diversions, construction zones, the presence of stray cattle, and adverse weather conditions. The platforms will also promote voluntary registration on the Rajmargyatra App among commercial drivers and fleet operators.
Additionally, the participating commercial vehicle aggregator platforms will share periodic usage metrics and feedback to help authorities improve the effectiveness of digital highway safety initiatives.
Driver-Led Reporting to Promote Participative Governance
The initiative introduces a ‘Jan Bhagidari – Driver-Led Reporting’ mechanism that encourages drivers using Commercial Vehicle Aggregator Platforms to actively participate in highway governance.
Through this system, drivers will be able to submit geo-tagged reports highlighting issues on National Highways. These reports may include potholes, damaged crash barriers, non-functional streetlights, faded road markings, and other unsafe roadside conditions.
The driver-generated reports shared through Commercial Vehicle Aggregator Platforms will be integrated into the Rajmargyatra ecosystem for centralized monitoring and resolution by authorities.
Strengthening Emergency Response on National Highways
To further improve emergency response, the Commercial Vehicle Aggregator Platforms will integrate a dedicated ‘Call 1033’ feature within their applications. This feature will allow drivers to access the National Highway Helpline with a single click during emergencies.
Drivers using Commercial Vehicle Aggregator Platforms will also have the option to share their geo-location information, enabling quicker emergency response.
This will allow authorities to provide real-time updates regarding ambulance dispatch and information about the nearest hospital.
Promoting Responsible Driving Practices
Another key focus of the partnership with Commercial Vehicle Aggregator Platforms is to encourage responsible driving behavior among commercial drivers.
The platforms will disseminate National Highway safety awareness videos through their in-app engagement modules. These educational initiatives will highlight important behavioral aspects such as avoiding over-speeding, preventing wrong-side driving, maintaining lane discipline, avoiding unsafe stopping or reversing, and encouraging drivers to use the 1033 helpline during emergencies.
Through these awareness initiatives, Commercial Vehicle Aggregator Platforms will also share periodic participation metrics to help assess driver engagement and awareness levels.

Vishisht Saarthi Recognition for Safe Drivers
To further encourage safe driving habits, the collaboration introduces the ‘Vishisht Saarthi’ recognition program. Under this initiative, Commercial Vehicle Aggregator Platforms will identify drivers who demonstrate exemplary adherence to National Highway safety norms.
Recognized drivers will receive certificates and digital badges, acknowledging their commitment to responsible driving practices on highways.
Enhancing Transparency at Toll Plazas and Wayside Amenities
The partnership also aims to improve transparency and service standards along the National Highway network. Commercial Vehicle Aggregator Platforms will enable structured feedback from commercial drivers regarding toll plaza operations.
Drivers will be able to provide inputs on toll wait times, charging accuracy, and lane efficiency. In addition, feedback will also cover wayside amenities such as hygiene standards, pricing transparency, and service quality.
By collecting such feedback through Commercial Vehicle Aggregator Platforms, authorities aim to improve the quality of services available to highway users.
Streamlining FASTag Grievance Redressal
Another important component of the MoU focuses on simplifying grievance redressal related to FASTag services. The Commercial Vehicle Aggregator Platforms will facilitate structured reporting of FASTag-related concerns.
Drivers will be able to report issues such as incorrect toll deductions, delayed transaction postings, disputes, and Know Your Vehicle (KYV) related problems.
These reported cases will be escalated through defined digital interfaces to ensure coordinated and time-bound review by relevant stakeholders.
Commercial Vehicle Aggregator Platforms: Strengthening Digital Participation in Highway Safety
The MoU marks a significant step toward harnessing digital platforms to empower the commercial driver community. By integrating technology-enabled reporting, safety communication, and feedback mechanisms through commercial vehicle aggregator platforms, the initiative aims to enhance National Highway safety, strengthen emergency response systems, and improve transparency and service quality across India’s highway network.
