Mercedes Benz V Class Launched in India at ₹1.4 Crore, Debuts Petrol and AIRMATIC Suspension

Pune: Mercedes Benz V Class has been launched in India by Mercedes-Benz, marking a significant step in the evolving private luxury mobility segment.

The all-new Mercedes Benz V Class Extra Long Wheelbase (LWB) has been introduced as a ‘private suite on wheels’, combining expansive space, advanced technology, and first-class comfort tailored for Indian customers.

Priced at an introductory ₹1.4 crore (ex-showroom, all India) for both the V300d diesel and V300 petrol variants, the Mercedes Benz V Class will also enter local production in India, reinforcing the brand’s long-term commitment to the market.

Redefining Luxury Space with Mercedes Benz V Class

Launched in an extra-long wheelbase configuration (5,370 mm length and 3,430 mm wheelbase), the Mercedes Benz V Class features a sophisticated six-seat layout.

Designed to cater to affluent families, power elites and trendsetters, the vehicle focuses on privacy, exclusivity and comfort while on the move.

Announcing the launch, Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said: “The V-Class addresses a growing trend amongst India’s opulent customers and trend setters, who seek an oasis of personal space, tranquility and privacy, while travelling in the lap of luxury. The decision to start the local production of the V-Class further reinforces our India commitment, adding significant value to our customers.”

The Mercedes Benz V Class is positioned as an additional luxury vehicle for families who prioritise private travel, including journeys with pets, while maintaining exclusivity and security.

Powertrain Options and AIRMATIC Suspension

For the first time in India, the Mercedes Benz V Class debuts with a petrol engine option alongside diesel. The dual powertrain options include:

  • Petrol (V300): 1999 cc engine producing 170 kW (228 bhp) + 15 kW (20 bhp) mild hybrid support
  • Diesel (V300d): 1951 cc engine delivering 174 kW (233 bhp)
  • Both variants come paired with a 9G-TRONIC transmission.

A key highlight of the Mercedes Benz V Class is its AIRMATIC air suspension, specifically developed for Indian road conditions. Notably, India becomes the first market globally to offer AIRMATIC suspension on both petrol and diesel variants of the V-Class.

First-Class Seating and Segment-First Features

The cabin of the Mercedes Benz V Class has been curated as a luxury private suite. The second row offers first-class individual seats equipped with:

  • Three-stage ventilation
  • Massage function
  • Calf support
  • Deployable cupholders
  • Wireless charging

The third row sets a benchmark as the first in its segment to offer ventilated seats. It also includes ISOFIX child seat anchorage, three-point seat belts, and USB charging ports.

The front seats are electrically adjustable and ventilated with cushion length adjustment, reinforcing the premium appeal of the Mercedes Benz V Class.

Premium Features as Standard

The Mercedes Benz V Class comes equipped with several premium features as standard, including:

  • AMG Line exterior and interior styling
  • MULTIBEAM LED headlamps with Highbeam Assist Plus
  • Burmester surround sound system with Dolby Atmos (15 loudspeakers, 640W output)
  • 64-colour ambient lighting
  • THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control
  • ENERGIZING Comfort programme with 10 wellness modes
  • Electric sliding doors on both sides
  • Electrically operable split tailgate

The vehicle rides on 18-inch AMG alloy wheels and is available in five exterior colour options, along with two Lugano leather upholstery choices.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Positioned as the safest vehicle in its segment, the Mercedes Benz V Class offers seven standard airbags, including window airbags extending from A to D pillar.

  • Blind Spot Assist with Rear Cross Traffic Alert

Mercedes-Benz India will commence local production of the Mercedes Benz V Class, making it the second product announced for local production this year after the Mercedes-Maybach GLS SUV.
