TraffiCure, an AI-powered traffic intelligence platform built on Google’s Roads Management Insights, developed by Haryana-based Lepton Software, has been introduced by the Pune City Traffic Police to enhance traffic regulation and reduce congestion across the city.
Through TraffiCure, real-time information regarding frequent traffic jams and slowdowns on major as well as internal roads in Pune will now be accessible.
The software is equipped with an independent alert system that enables traffic police personnel to reach congestion spots immediately and take swift action for traffic clearance.
In addition, TraffiCure will allow authorities to measure the average speed of vehicles on most city roads and collect data on the causes of traffic obstructions.

TraffiCure Framework: 550 Road Segments Identified
The TraffiCure initiative has been developed through the joint efforts of Google Maps, Left Turn India, and the Pune City Traffic Department.
Under the TraffiCure framework, more than 550 road segments have been identified and categorized across major roads in Pune. This segmentation enables precise monitoring of traffic conditions in each specific stretch.
During a pilot study conducted over a 45-day period from January to February 2026, observations recorded an average vehicle speed of 26.8 km/h on city roads.
With the app, historical data of each road segment can be verified and analyzed to identify the causes of congestion, thereby helping authorities take corrective measures to improve vehicle speeds.
